I have a server on Intel Motherboard S5520SC with HDD RAID.
System working with MS Windows Server 2012.
Now I want to install SSD Intel 530 Series (SSDSC2BW240A4K5) for backups, but windows not find my SSD in system.
All motherboard firmware and BIOS was upgraded one week ago.
When server starts I see my SSD in HDD configuration.
I get recommendation to delete RAID controller (without drivers deleting) in windows.
Than, after rebooting, I'll see my SSD in windows.
But I doubt that I'll get a death screen in windows.

The Xeon D-1540 is a brilliant CPU+board combo for so many reasons.

Yet rumors keep persisting around a new series of Xeon D models with 10 and 12 cores running at similar speeds and with a similar low TDP, ie for the exact same purpose as the current Xeon D-1540s but with more cores available.
- Any substance in these rumors and if not, when is the range going to be renewed?
- If yes, when this new range will be actually available on Supermicro boards? (if it is possible to know, I know the D-1541s are next to impossible to order in EU, as of January)
My company's current use for Xeon D nodes is as nodes in an on-premise Hadoop setup, so price performance is very important. 8+ core E5v3's are too expensive for the node price per unit, so it has to be Xeon D's because of their modern design and integration with modern ports etc on the Supermicro boards.

I have an Intel S1200V3RPM server board, XEON E3 1275V3 processor (P4600 graphics), which I use as an audio and video streamer.
The only drivers I have been able to install are the 10.18.10.3316 from windows update. All other drivers from the Intel download center (.3316 and .3345) fail to install.
The problem I experience is that I do not have any audio on the HDMI input of my AV receiver. I connect my board via DisplayPort cable -> HP BB937AA adapter -> HDMI cable-> Onkyo PR-SC5507 AV receiver. My PC cannot see the Onkyo as an audio device. Video gets transferred fine.
The HP Displayport - HDMI adapter works fine connecting an HP Elitebook 8570w to the Onkyo, miltichannel HD sound and all.
Thanks for any help, as the video part of my streamer is unusable like this.

I have the SR2500ALBRP server ( 1 CPU - 2 Ram modules ).
The machine was working without any problems until yesterday.
Suddenly i found the status led ( front panel ) blinking green - amber. I know this led blinks green or amber but not both.
I disconect the power and connected again ( both PSU ).
Status led green (Steady no blinking )
When i push power button status led blinks green, fans working at full speed, no boot beep, no video.
After 1 minute status led turns to amber and blinking. Fans continue to run at full speed, no video, no beep, no boot.
Push the power button again to turn off, the system going off and the status led blinking green - amber. again
After 15 minutes without any action from me the status led turns again to Steady green.
If i try to power on again the same cycle repeat.
I try memory change, nothing
I remove memory and nothing again. No beep, No Post.
Can anyone Help ?

I wanted to install the operating system for virtual machines. Unfortunately, I have a problem with the raid controller, I do not see SAS drives. I wanted to install RAID drivers for linux but I do not see the controller. Do you practice with the motherboard S5000PSLSASR and a matrix RAID systems linux?
S1200SPL server motherboard does not have a output audio socket, though it is integrated graphics capable.
Does that mean audio won't work at all with these boards?
What are the possible solutions to add audio?

the integrated graphics card is Matrox G200 2D and it was extremely slow even using a Ubuntu distribution.

I'm posting another discussion as that discussion is already 4 years old.
I encountered the same problem just recently with my Intel Server SR1530HS with the board above. Basically, I'm trying to use the IPMI interface as a fencing device for a 2-node CentOS cluster. I already followed Edward's recommendation to update the BIOS and firmwares to the latest available version. Did that earlier today yet still no luck on BMC LAN access.

Has anyone configured ipmi lan interface on s3200sh. I was using http://osdir.com/ml/hardware.ipmitool.devel/2006-07/msg00019.html to configure s5000pal but this procedure doesn't apply to S3200sh.

Hello I recently bought a S5000XALR motherboard and I have installed it into a 4u chassis with no special features, just an on/off and reset switch, 3 leds, and 2 usb ports. I have added 4 8gb FBDIMMS and 4 4gb FBDIMMS for the memory and 2 intel Xeon X5470 processors. When I plug in the power cord all the fans, 3 sys fans, 2 cpu fans, and the power supply fan all spin and the status light starts to blink the green and amber then goes to a steady green for a few seconds and starts to blink green meaning there is a degrate somewhere. The power button on the control remains disabled and the fans keep spinning. I have tried to use only 2 sticks of memory and even one and changed the ones I was using to check if there might be a problem with one of them. I have tried using only one processor and tried each by it's self. I have tried unhooking all hard drives and cd's and even the 2 usbs on the case. When I start with no processor in I get the beeping, but when I start with no ram in I don't get the beeping that Intel has to;d me I should be getting without memory, and the status light still stays blinking green instead of the solid amber it should be. I have also tried using 2 different processors to no avail. any thoughts on to where I should go from here with the trouble shooting would be very much appreciated. This is the second S5000XALR I have bought the first blew a transistor when I plugged it in I'm just hoping this isn't another bad board.

the issue I am trying to solve is this: my ZOTAC GTX 980 AMP! works fine in Core i5 desktop, but is not recognized in my Intel S5520HC mainboard where I would like to use it for some TensorFlow GPU computing.
The card is inserted into the only PCIe 2.0 x16 slot (mechanically, only x8 electrically) on the board. a Quadro K4000 card works fine in that slot, so the slot seems to be working.
I am wondering if this could be a PCIe 2.0 / x8 slot compatibility issue? Could this be solved e.g. by updated the GPU's firmware and/or trying other PCIe slots using a x8 -> x16 riser?
The Intel board is running the latest firmware/bios.
Anybody here have any experience with / recommendation for a modern nvidia GPU that is compatible with this board? something along the lines GTX 970 / 980 / 980ti / Titan X would be great.

I recently bought a S5000XALR server board and installed it in a 4u rack server case. I have been able to hook everything up where it's supposed to go except the power and reset switches and leds. If anyone has any insight into this the help would be greatly appreciated.
