SR2625URLXK install Windows Server 2012 R2

Hi guys!!! I have  one server (SR2625URLXK)  where I created a RAID 5 with 6 GB HDD 133 being a volume of 545 Gb + - by Inter Integrated Raid Controler SROMBSASMP2
I appear as that 3 of my HDD SAS have a PREDFAIL COUNT ( yellow )

When I start the installation process of Windows Server 2012 R2 with a DVD, no I created in Raid volume appears .
I Signed_Driver_6.600.23.00_WS2012 have this driver but I do not detect volume.

On another occasion if I detect RAID volume in the installation process . But to indicate that the volume is , it stays on the same screen and the installation does not advance.

I have tried several windows DVD and failure still at the same point .

Thanks!!

Intel Xeon Phi 31S1P PCI Bracket

Hi Everyone,

My first time posting so be gentle ;-)

I've just purchased one of the amazingly priced aforementioned card & like many I've found it doesn't include the PCI bracket, which maybe because of the way it was sold or something along those lines. I had the same problem when purchasing a Tesla card, but was easily able to find the bracket online.

Can anyone please point me in the right direction of where I can purchase a bracket or two?

I noted that another post asked for this question to be posted under servers so hopefully someone can help me out.

Thankyou

Brad

S1200V3RPL Fan Speed

Please someone....

Walk me through slowing down the fans on a new S1200V3RPL.

3 days I've been.. upgrading / downgrading BIOS / BMC / FRUSDR

I google searched and read all the forums etc etc.. but I just cant get it. And now this is my last resort :-(

Clearly I've missed something.

Most of the work has been done in EFI shell, but 2008 server is loaded on the Mirrored SSD's.

The last file I tried was  S1200RPL_S1200RPO_S1200RPM_SFUP_BIOS01040002_BMC110_FRUSDR106.zip by Startup.nsh.

While everything seems to go through OK.. fans actually slow down at one part of the process... but then speed up again.. LOUD!

Tell me what you need to know and how to get it, to start fault finding this please! Needless to say, this has become URGENT :-(

Regards to all,

Owen

Expand array on a SRCSAS18E

Good day.

We have an array on an Intel SRCSAS18E controller with 4 drives in RAID 5 to which we would like to add 2 drives.  I have read that this is done using several candles, a pentagram and invocation of storcli or MegaCli.  We are running Vmware 5.5 with 3 MS Windows VMs.

My question is - can this RAID expansion be done on the fly ie while Vmware and its VMs are running?

How reliable is this operation?  Should I anticipate trouble?

Thank you for your time,

Unattended upgrade of firmware using OFU/flashupdt

$

Hello,

I would like to perform an unattended upgrade of the firmware of a S2600KP node as part of a Windows 2012 R2 installation. I have an ISO which deploys the OS and then automatically executes a bunch of scripts to upgrade the system and firmware.

The problem I encounter is that the OFU flashupdt tool requires user interaction. The silent upgrade is impossible due an interactive menu. Has anyone been able to automate this?

Secondly the tool says "Exiting without performing any updates" but then goes on to update the BMC/BIOS etc. This is kind of misleading.

Could Intel improve the usability of their tools so that such scenarios can be addressed with ease? Is there an Intel email address to which one can send feedback?

Thanks

Error updating S2600KP firmware with OFU flashupdt

I encounter a couple of errors during the unattended update of the S2600KP firmware using OFU flashupdt

The errors are:

Error parsing CFG file at line 752. Missing parameter in FRUNAME

and

SDR auto-update failed

Error : Error while parsing the cfg file

The note in https://downloadmirror.intel.com/24717/eng/ReleaseNotes.txt about "SDR auto-update failed" does not seem to apply to my Windows installation. I could not find any information on the other error.

Does anyone have ideas on how to resolve these?

Is S1200V3RPL support DDR3 ECC (not DDR3L variant)?

$

Hello, I'm trying to build my first server, using Intel Server Board S1200V3RPL and

Intel Xeon E3-1220v3.

My problem is in Intel Ark website, it stated I'm gonna need DDR3L ECC RAM,

which I don't know where to buy from (I'm in Bali, Indonesia). Supplier here only have DDR3 ECC.

Intel® Server Board S1200V3RPL Specifications

I already search around to find answer if regular voltage DDR3 ECC (not low voltage DDR3L ECC)

can be used with this board, but cannot find definitive answer.

For example this web from Crucial said this regular DDR3 ECC 1,5V RAM can be used for S1200V3RPL

Crucial 16GB Kit (8GBx2) DDR3-1600 ECC UDIMM upgrades for S1200V3RPL Motherboard, CT4487896 from Crucial.com

Any help will be much appreciated. I cannot afford to buy wrong RAM.

My budget very tight, which is why I opted to build my own server.

Thank you.

Default root password for Intel Remote Management Module - RMM4

Out of the box the module appears to have an enabled root user and DHCP is enabled on the dedicated management network port.  But I can't find any documentation about what the default password is.

Does anyone know what the default root password is for the Intel RMM4?

It makes little sense to me that you have to connect a monitor and keyboard to configure remote management for usage.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

How do I force an NVM update for an OEM X710-DA2?

$

Hello,

I purchased some X710-DA2 cards on Amazon, and installed them today. I noticed the Linux driver reports an old NVM image with a recommendation to update it. I tried the NVMUpdatePackage 1.25.20.12 (latest version) and it says "Update not available".

Num Description                            Device-Id B:D   Adapter Status

04) Intel(R) 82574L Gigabit Network Connec 8086-10D3 09:00 Not supported

As you can see, I have two different X710's in the server (from two different suppliers on Amazon). One says it is up to date, the other says it is not updatable.

lspci suggests these two have different subsystem vendors, so I think one is an OEM edition. I suspect I would be better off flashing the card to be vanilla.

lspci shows the cards as identical:

02:00.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation Ethernet Controller X710 for 10GbE SFP+ (rev 01)

02:00.1 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation Ethernet Controller X710 for 10GbE SFP+ (rev 01)

04:00.1 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation Ethernet Controller X710 for 10GbE SFP+ (rev 01)

With -v -n  you can see subsystem differences (edited to just show subsystem differences):

SR2500ALLX - Fan Noise after changing midplane (FALSASMP to FALPASMP)

$

Hi,

English is not my primary language, so please forgive me for my mistakes.

I really need help with my SR2500ALLX server. Anything will be welcomed and appreciated.

I changed the midplane from the RAID one to the SATA passive one because the RAID one cannot support HDD over 2TB, Good news, my brand new 4TB disks are fully available !

Only problem is that the Fan went crasy.

I read some posts online and tried all of these :

Flashed latest BIOS : 101

Flashed latest BMC :  68

Flashed latest FRU and SDR : 48

Reboot : Clear BIOS settings (F9)

Set eveything on quiet above 300m

Tried to clear the CMOS.

Cleared SEL.

Nothing will do it.

Since it is now very noisy, I can't use it in my houe anymore, so it practically defeat the perpose of the new disks and midplane.

Thanks for your help.

Booting from DC P3700 on older server

Hello,

I have an Intel SR2612URR server with a S5520UR board and a passive riser (along with the latest BIOS and BMC). Installed are two Xeon E5504 and 16 GB of registered memory.

I purchased a DC P3700 SSD for it and installed Windows Server 2012R2 with the intention of booting from it. However, while the installation went fine (after disconnecting the other drives and enabling EFI optimized boot), the drive is not detected in the BIOS and the server won't boot from it. The only entries in the boot menu are network boot, the EFI shell, and Windows Boot Manager (which does not work when selected). I there any way to boot from the drive or any options for it to be recognized in the BIOS?

Thank you for helping; it is an old server, but it will be a few more years before an upgrade and this will help speed it up!

S5000PSL Server Board No video

I currently have a S5000psl with two Xeon X5460 and 8 gb of ddr2 ram, I already checked the compatibility of the cpus with my motherboard and the compatibility of the ram with the motherboard as well. I've tried both with and without a graphics card, Ive tried taking out one stick of ram, running on 1 cpu, and still no video i do realize however that this board is said to work with my cpus with the newest bios update and i have no idea which bios version is on this board right now and have no idea how i am going to flash the bios without the video signal. I have also tried clearing the cmos, For my cpu power i am using a single 8 pin connector and the power supply is a 750w EVGA power supply so its more than enough power. The system starts with no video keeps running and then i see the solid amber led after about 35 seconds i would say, And im not getting any beeps with the ram out so i take it the onboard speaker is gone or the motherboard in total is gone.

onboard RAID Controller

$

Hallo Zusammen,

Frank
