S2600WT2 BMC fails to renew dhcp address

Hi there,

 

we have a number of S2600WT2 servers and on occasion some (few) of them fail to renew their IP address via DHCP, e.g. after having restarted the dhcp server for maintenance. This is particularly annoying if the node was powered off since I can't reach it in-band, either, and thus lost all ability to control it.


The only failsafe method to recover known to us is to break the physical network link momentarily, which apparently causes the bmc dhcp client to renew its address. Is this a bug in the bmc dhcp client? Has anyone experienced this situation before?

What specific driver affects the RS-232 serial port on a C204 chipset and how is it identified in hardware manager?

I have a S1200BTLR motherboard. It has two native RS-232 ports that are integrated into the C204 chipset. The device I talk to over the RS-232 port has intermittent communications. If I install a USB to RS-232 converter, it works just fine. I need to know how to identify the specific driver that would have any impact on the performance of the serial port, and how to see all that in device manager. The only thing you can do in BIOS is to enable/disable the port...

Expand array on a SRCSAS18E

Good day.

 

We have an array on an Intel SRCSAS18E controller with 4 drives in RAID 5 to which we would like to add 2 drives.  I have read that this is done using several candles, a pentagram and invocation of storcli or MegaCli.  We are running Vmware 5.5 with 3 MS Windows VMs.

 

My question is - can this RAID expansion be done on the fly ie while Vmware and its VMs are running?

 

How reliable is this operation?  Should I anticipate trouble?

Intel Raid Web Console 2 - Server could not be found because server may be down or server not installed in the host system

I have installed the latest Intel Raid Web Console 2 (15.05.01.00) on a Server 2012 R2. The motherboard is a S3210SH.

I get a “Server could not be found because server may be down or server not installed in the host system” when I click on Discover Host with the correct IP address. Just trying to connect to the local server.

It worked fine on Server 2003R2 with an older Web console version.

Any help would be appreciated

DBS2600CW2 fails to boot due to TXT security voilation

Its a brand new board with Processor : E5-2609V3, while we try to boot it gives 1-long beep and never gets into POST BIOS screen.  the TPS guide is saying its a TXT security violation.


Any idea what is wrong ?

Updating chipset drivers shows success at the end but in driver update utility has a fail

I have old drivers from 2011 and want to update them

 

 

But can I safely remove them, eg system driver:

 

Intel(R) 6 Series/C200 Series Chipset Family PCI Express Root Port 1 - 1C10

 

and many others like it?

 

I've first removed network adapter driver which was also from 2011 and update that succesfully to latest version.

 

Now only the chipset, which installs fine on its own but through the update utlity it fails.

DBS2600CW2 with RMS25PB080 HW Raid Controller: RAID Controller name not in Boot Manager List

Hi All,

We are Integrating a Server with DBS2600CW2 board and RMS25PB080 RAID Controller. I defined RAID Virtual Array and Groups Initialized and set as boot able.

But could not see the RAID Controller name in Boot Manager List, only Optical Drives, Intel Network controller & USB Pen drive is shown. The Mass storage section of BIOS shows Intel RAID Controller name but not selectable. The current BIOS ver. is 008.

What could be the reason for not listing the Controller name under Boot manager?

Boot issue about S1200BTL with HGST/sTec S1120 PCIe SSA

Hi

 

I have a S1200BTL board, and a HGST/sTec S1120 PCIe Solid State Accelerater.

S1200BTL Board

BIOS   : S1200BT.86B.02.00.0041.120520121743

ME     : ME_02_02_00_049

BMC    : 1.17

FRUSDR : 1.16

 

HGST S1120 SSA

FW: V0A5

 

The Product Specification of S1120 said the SSA support UEFI boot. So my plan is using it as the boot, ESXi System and datastore drive.

But I can’t boot it with my server which the motherboard is S1200BTL. So I must use a SATA drive as the boot and ESXi System drive.

I can’t find the SSA in BIOS/PCIe Device page. And the EFI Shell don’t show any Filesystem or Device of it.

I also tried to install Windows in UEFI mode. After the final reboot, I can see the Windows Boot Manager in Boot select screen, but no work. ENTER it, the screen will blink black and go back to Boot select screen.

 

What should I do?

S5520UR Platform Confidence Test (PCT) Utility for EFI 3060092f error

Hello,

I have at home a S5520UR server, the frontal led in bliking and seems to be a ECC-memory module that is wrong.

I have download the PCT for EFI, copy it to a USB and follow instructions.

But when I click on "quick test" or "comprehensive test" an error is shown and no test is done:

 

*** ERROR TX64.EFI 3.15.1.0001 ***

Missing or invalid software license.

Standard Error Code = 3060092F

(Error logged at 12-03-2015 20:20:05)

 

I have search but I have not found any reason.

Does some know the reason of the error? or a way to solve it?

 

Or, is another way to identify the wrong memory module?

 

I will appreciate any help.

S5000vsa no video signal

Hi guys, I've a problem with my server board s5000vsa. First it mounts two intel xeon processors e5405, 4gb of ram (All of components are in the list of tested hardware). The problem is that there isn't video signal when i turn on it but if i remove the second cpu all works fine. At this point I was wondering if the cpu is the problem or the board. Anyone knows anything?

I've another same board (with all sata ports broken) and on this the two processors works. Thanks

На сервере установлено было 4 Гб ОЗУ комплектами: 2 модуля Samsung RAM DDR400 M312L2920CZ0-CCC 1024Mb REG ECC LP PC3200R(M312L2920CZ0-CCC) (TP) и 2 модуля Kingston ValueRAM < KVR400D8R3A / 1G > DDR DIMM 1Gb < PC-3200 > ECC Registered+PLL, Low Profile.

Показывал 4 Гб общего объема. 2 дня назад перестал включаться, выдавал на старте 3 долгих сигнала.

Два модуля Samsung установленных отдельно показывают 1 Гб общей памяти.

Два модуля Kingston выдают ошибку 3 долгих сигнала.

 

Сегодня вместо 1 модуля Kingston поставил обычную память DDR-400 размером 1 Ггб.

Итого: Стоит 2 модуля Samsung, 1 модуль Kingston, 1 модуль обычной DDR-400

Общий объем 2 Ггб вместе со всеми 4 модулями.

 

Подсказать кто может правильную установку памяти?

 

И как точно определить вышел ли из строя модкль Kingston подозрительный?

S3420GPRX RAM issues - system not booting

Hello.

 

I'm trying to set up a Server system for a local charity. We recently bought a:

 

  • Server System SR1695GPRX2ACNA Barebone System
  • 1 x Intel Server Board S3420GPRX

 

To go with it, we bought an Intel Xeon X3470 SLBJH - 2.93ghz 8M Cache CPU.

 

 

We then bought the following RAM:

 

  • 4 X Samsung M393B5170DZ1-CF8 4Gb RDIMM PC3-8500

 

The system will not boot-up with this RAM in place. I get the 3 beeps errors, which according to the manual is a RAM issue. The seller

of the RAM sent us a different model of RAM (again, Samsung but a different model number, I never noted which) but the outcome was

exactly the same. 3 beeps per RAM module, regardless of which slot the RAM is placed in.

 

I suspect this may be a motherboard issue but the seller of the motherboard has been quite unresponsive so far. This is the first time I've tried

to set up a system with ECC RAM, though I've years of experience setting up desktop PCs.

 

 

Any help greatly appreciated.

Server board S2600CP2 / 1 proc / 4x4gb ecc (dimm A1/A2/B1/B2 + 2x8gb ecc (dimm C1/C2) - all work propertly.

 

Can i add 2x16gb ecc modules in D1/D2 dimm bank for  sum memory 64gb?

It will work correctly?Sorry my english.

 

 

Есть сервер на базе S2600CP2 с одним процессором,  в него установлены модули памяти 4 по 4гб ecc ddr3 и 2 по 8гб ecc ddr3

 

Могу я добавить в сервер еще 2 можуля по 16 гб каждый в свободные слоты памяти для этого процессора?

 

Будет ли это работать правильно?

s2600cp tpm module pin pitch

I want to know TPM(Trusted Platform Module) connector pitch of Intel S2600CP server board.

Do anyone know this?

I just have unreliable information as follow.

 

In "Intel Server Board S2600CP and Server System P4000CP TPS" document, it says that TXT(Trusted Execution Techonology) requires TPM v1.2.

Therefore, I searched "trusted platform module 1.2 connector s2600cp2" and found the link(http://download.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/sb/g21682003_tpm_hwug.pdf).

The link says "iPN FCI 20021321-00014D4LF", so I could get "FCI 20021321-00014D4LF(http://kr.mouser.com/ProductDetail/FCI/20021321-00014D4LF/?qs=oJs1R%252bxK6kSmzxrMv2VpXA%3D%3D)".

In "FCI 20021321-00014D4LF" data sheet, the pitch is 1.27(I am not sure it is 1.27mm).

 

I need someone's help.

Server bd S5000PSL firmware update - FRUSDR question

I am upgrading the firmware on a S5000PSL board using the latest "Firmware Update Package for DOS".

 

I have done the BIOS and BMC steps and now have a problem at the last step with FRUSDR.

 

I get the following error:

 

"Error, failed to read FRU string.

Warning, in reading from EEPROM device, the FRU header area is different from the FRU file you are trying to program.

Note: only the FRU file data is programmed. You will need to rerun the package in order to modify any of the FRU field information. Would you like to program the file data over the existing FRU data? Yes or No?"

It says system degraded and all the hard disk lights on the front are red. How can I locate which disk failed. I have a little bit unix experience. I mainly use windows. Since it is degraded, I should be able to recover the files or copy of them if I can bring the system back.

Theoretical references for benchmark a system

Hello,

 

I have used several bench marking tools to test the performance of my system (. Most of them give the results in numbers and say whether the test is pass or not. IPDT ( Intel processor antagonistic tool ) gives the expected values of frequency, clock speed only. but other test results say just passed or not.

I can compare with the other system with same specifications of mine and compare the results.But if I have some theoretical references to that it would be better.

How can I know whether my system is performing as its specifications ?

Is there any standard benchmark report tables to compare the performance of Intel processors ?

How Can I reset username and password on Intel Modular Server's Management Module?

 

I have follow the instructions on :

Intel® Modular Server Systems — Cannot Log in to CMM

 

But it can't display the command prompt (CMM EBF> prompt)

I use an USB-to-serial cable and a straight-serial cable.

 

Is there any other way to regain access to my account because the account already locked.

Como puedo detectar las alarmas de energia (Power Supply) de la tarjeta madre intel HNS2600JF. Esta tarjeta madre tiene dos fuentes de energia. Lo que necesito saber es como detectar esta alarma desde linux con distrubucion de Centos.  De antemano gracias por su ayuda.
