E-mail notifications in RAID Web Console 2

$

Hello, few months ago I bought the Intel SRCSATAWB RAID controller which has been working fine so far (except one of the breakout cables which was damaged upon arrival). I have set up everything to my liking except one thing:

I seem to be unable to properly set up e-mail notifications.

The thing is, whatever I type into the configuration window, when I try to send myself a test e-mail, I get an error message stating:

The test email could not be sent.

Check the mail server settings and try again.

I searched a bit on the Internet, but I found only these topics and none of these helped me:

Also, I did a bit of testing. I have two SMTP server at my disposal, none of them use any kind of encryption and both listen on a standard port 25:

- The first one does not use any authentication (my computer is authentified by being in the same network)

- The second one does use a standard method of authentication (username and password)

No matter how I configure these, I am just unable to send a test e-mail.

By looking at the Wireshark logs, I noticed the following: RAID Web Console 2 seems to be improperly communicating with the SMTP server and thus I won't get authenticated with the second SMTP server which then, of course, denies any communication (relaying not allowed). Please see the attached image for more information.

Am I doing something wrong or is there actually a bug in the Web Console? I am willing to do various tests and logs if necessary.

I am using the newest Web Console 2 available:

Version 9.00.0000

Client Build: 2.90-00

Raid Web Console 2

I'm having issues Sending SMTP Mail thorugh the Raid Web Console. I been using the Raid Web Console and Intel RAID Card for years, but it always seems like it's hit or miss with the console. Sometimes it works when sending mail, sometimes it doesn't. I need a permanent solution to this issue. It doesn't matter what server I use it just plain doesn't work. I could use google's server and it doesn't work and yes the ports are open on the firewall otherwise my clients would be unable to send any email.

Intel P4308CP4MHGC graphics card w/ 6-pin power

Hi,

what is the proper way of attaching and using a graphics card on P4308CPMHGC if the card has a 6-pin power connector?

There's only a single 4-pin cord available out-of-the box, and also 4 other 4-pin slots on the power distribution board.

According to the Tech manual, the output power harness these 4x4-pin connectors are for graphics cards, but 4-pins don't quite cut it when you require a 6-pin connector.

Raid config for S2600CW2 Server Board with FUP8X25S3HSDK 8x2.5 Hot Swap Drive Cage Kit in P4304XXMFEN2

I'm trying to install the S2600CW2 board in the P4304XXMFEN2 Server Chassis, using the 8x2.5 Hot Swap Drive Cage Kit FUP8x25S3HSDK, and the AXXCBL380HDHD mini-SAS cable(s).

Problem is the embedded Raid s/w ESRT2 and RSTe only see 4 drives of the for configuration purposes (i.e. I can configure to arrays of up to 4 drives each, but no more!).

Am I wiring it wrong? I have one of the AXXCBL380HDHD cables going from the board header SATA0-3 to the Hot Swap backplane connector Ports 0-3, and the other AXXCBL380HDHD cable going from the motherboard sSATA0-3 to the Hot Swap backplane connector Ports 4-7.

How can I combine all 8 drives into one array?

(By the way, the Server Configurator interactive Guide omits the requirement for the AXXCBL380HDHD cable)

Thanks. Any help would be appreciated.

1-wire temperature sensor

Hello, I'm working with Intel Server Board S1200RPM. I want to add a temperature sensor (Dallas DS18S20) to the front panel SSI connector. It appears in the specs (in the 24-pin EEB SSI connector pin-out): "1-wire temperature sensor", so I think it must be compatible. The sensor is listed in the SDR as "Front Panel Temperature" but I don't get any reading. Is there some other thing that I should take into account?

Thanks in advance.

I cannot seem to get 2 Radeon 290X video cards to link up in the primary and secondary x16 slots ( Bottom and next one up ). They both are recognized and display separately however they will not form a crossfire link. Is there any bios setting for this in the UEFI or standard bios to fix this. These cards do not utilize the older bridge link they communicate through the pci-e bus. I have followed AMDs recommendations to no avail.

S1200BTLR with AXXRMS2AF040 drives dropping off line unexpected sense

Hi

I have a S1200BTLR server with the RAID controller AXXRMS2AF040 installed running Windows 2008r2, for no apparent reason drives drop off line with unexpected sense errors recorded in the Web Console.

We’ve had another system with disc issues. It’s reporting only three out of the four installed discs and reporting the three left as “bad”.

Equipment

S1200BTLR: BIOS - 86B.02.00.0042 - 2 x SSD's configured as RAID 1 using ERST2.

AXXRMS2AF040: BIOS - 2.130.394.3028 - 4 x WD 500GB HDD's configured as RAID 5.

Windows Server 2008r2 with latest updates.

Photos and logs can be provided.

Any help in solving these issues would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

MFSYS25 Firmware Problem

I have a MFSYS25 that has been mistakenly updated to firmware version 11.6. How can I downgrade it to 6.10? I used EBF to ftp the 6.10 cmm_core.zip file to the CMM, but I get an error about the linux-x86 file missing during the install process.  It then states that the Linux is corrupt.  Any suggestions?

RS3 RAID and Samsung SSD problem

Server 1: R1000GZ server system + RS3DC080 controller with BBU + Samsung 850 EVO SSD disks: working fine.

Server 2: R1000WT server system + RS3DC080 controller with BBU + regular 10krpm SATA disks + Samsung 850 EVO SSD disks: SSD disks are not working.

Initially, the server 2 working fine with 4 SSd disks for about 1,5 months, then threw two disks our of array and now the array works only for the first 60 seconds.

I have tested different pairs of disks in RAID1 but as soon as I start to copy data to the array it throws one disk out of array.

I haven't got much support from the Intel Customer Support, they though it was a virtualization problem because I mentioned we use the server for virtualization.

I was also pointed to the 'Tested Hardware and Operating System List' for the controller, but this list is outdated. Also, it would be nearly impossible to source disks with the listed firmware.

Intel Modular Server MFSYS25 2.

Switch.Unmanageable.JPG

Ich habe folgende Lösung gefunden:

https://communities.intel.com/thread/47304

1. Switch

Port | 10G.XC | Admin Status | up

Port | 10G.SC | Admin Status | up

2. Switch

Port | 10G.XC | Admin Status | Down

Port | 10G.SC | Admin Status | Down

Ich bin über jeden Hinweis dankbar!

DirectPDMapping

I looked at the CMDTool2 manual for the RMT3CB080 Raid controller and found the syntax to change the DirectPDMapping setting, default is off. Every time I issue the command to turn it on I get an exit code 0x1. On LSI controllers I have successfully done this in EFI. I tried MegaCLI, StorCLI and CmdTool2 in EFI and DOS, no luck. In the StorCLi utility it replies that the directpdmapping failed for set cmd Error code 3. Has anyone else seen this behavior?

Thanks,

Scott

Asus z9pe-d8 WS SATA/SCU raid 5 failed after upgrade to WIN 10 pro from win7. Currently showing 3 of 4 member disks, and one non-member, but unable to rebuild raid whether intel bios or IRSTe. Most but not all backed up, may lose a terabyte or two (4x4tb

Have pulled drives from sas/sata/scu port and moved to the 6 sata ports available, with intel raid still enabled in bios. Still showing array as raid, and bios shows 3 member hdd and the last non-member.  However unable to rebuild raid array whether in intel bios utility or win IRSTe. Have reverted back to older ASUS version for 8.1 of (IRSTe). Still no dice. Deleted volume, tried rebuilding raid 5 array keeping data in those 4 hdd's, but apparently need to change volume size (on keeping data option within IRSTe software for each hdd, get not enough cache error, need to reduce by 5 MB or something). Has anyone else been through this nightmare? Have a lot but not all backed up online, may still lose a lot of files (1 tb`?). Purchased 2 extra WD 4TB red NAS drives but no luck rebuilding, doesn't show up as option in option rom bios.

Went from 3! offline HDD's to 1 now (migration?), but array still shows as failed. Tried at first newer IRSTe drivers before reverting to ASUS win 8 drivers, then finally moving all drives (including 2 newer drives) from SAS/SATA/SCU (4 ports on my mobo) to the six available sata ports with intel controller (still show up on intel bios). Note after numerous bios resets (including removal of cmos battery on mobo).

Yes have posted to overclock.net forums etc....!

How do I recover a corrupt bios after a firmware update on a Intel S2600IP ?

Hi all, I'm very much new here.  I had acquired a nice intel server that has a S2600IP... for days i've been trying to install an operating system on this and ran into very slow installations of windows.  Everything is practically brand new on this server as it was sitting around for a few years.   It worked fine until I tried to install the recent Firmware update using a EFI update method... everything was successful until after it shut down... Now I have no video and nothing happens.  I can tell the bios speaker is making a noise that reoccures at a decent pace.  I tried to do the BIOS Recovery jumper trick and I still don't get any video output whatsoever.  I did download the proper files to the USB stick too and for whatever reason, this machine doesn't display anything.  Just a constant faint beeping noise coming from the BIOS speaker.   All the start up lights on the board appear in normal operating order.  Is there something I'm missing here?

Thank you guys in advanced.

SB1200BTLR and Xeon v3

Hi,

We have an S1200BTLR board, version G21110-353. We have asked for a compatible CPU and have been sent the Xeon E3-1220v3. The Server Products — Tested Processor List does not list any v3 processors at all. Does this mean that the one we have received is not at all compatible, or maybe it's just a more recent yet still compatible CPU? Thanks.

Hello. lspci command does not see integrated IRIS graphic from Linux (Centos7, SystemRescueCD4)
I upgraded BIOS for latest version for S1200V3RPM motherboard for compatibility with E3-1265L v4 processor with Iris Pro Graphics.
Motherboard S1200V3RPM

BIOS: 03.02.0003 (latest)
CPU: E3-1265L v4
But lspci command does not see any Intel Integrated VGA adapter, only embedded Maxtor adapter. BIOS menu also does not show any options for VGA adapter switching.
