S1200V3RPL: BMC turns off

$

Hello All !

S1200V3RPL (the new board) with the "Remote Management Module AXXRMM4Lite" module installed. BIOS updated to the latest version.

Board has a strange behaviour: when turn it off thought Web Console it turns off completely, with the BMC. There is only one LED on the board, that always lights (green) -- power (near the main power connector). LEDs on both NICs, status and ID (rear) all turned off. It goes without saying, that there is no ping and network connectivity to the Integrated BMC Web Console.

The BMC starts working when press on the Power Button on the front panel. System stays in the off mode, only the BMC turns on, initializes and work in ordinary mode (like when one turns on power source).

I tried:

  • To reflash firmware for the BIOS, BMC and ME using according recovery modes (in sequence, one by one, setting according jumper with full AC power down, like it was mentioned in Recovery notes);
  • to downgrade BIOS to the v03.01.0002;
  • run the board with the other power source.

is it possible for a E5-26xx v4 in a 2s board to compete equally against AMD Opteron 6344s  in a 4s board?

Checking Specs results (mainly CPU2006), I found several e5-26xx skus that easily double the Opteron 6344 ratings in all aspects, running on all chips, would that be enough to compare the performance of both systems?

Or am I completely misunderstanding Spec results?

Thanks!

How do I update the BIOS on a very old S2600CP motherboard?

Hi,

I've just been given an ancient, refurbished S2600CP2J motherboard complete with CPUs and RAM and would like to get it fully working again.

The obvious first step is to update the BIOS but the oldest EFI update package available (01.02.003) states that I need to have at least version 01.01.1002 before starting or "the update process may render the system not operatable!"

According to the BIOS screen, my system is currently SE5C600.86B.99.99.x034, build date 08/23/2011.

As I have no wish to kill the system before I get started, is there any way of upgrading it to 01.01.1002 as a minimum?

Thanks.

Hello,

we urgently need help... any ideas?

we have Problems with two identical 4TB harddisks. we use the harddisks only for datastorage, no booting. No RAID.

Only AHCI mode!

The server recognize the 4TB on each drive. When dataspace reach more than 2TB data amount, drive controller get the failure.

It seems that, when we store more than 2TB on the 4TB harddrives, die GPT partitiontable changes to the volume to RAW format and the data get lost.

We use 2 drives, we tested each harddrive.  Both drives seems to be ok. And we can reproduce the failure

System Error log found a controller ERROR,  Disk , ID:11

Motherboard: S3420GPV S1156

Operating System: Win2008 R2 SP1
BIOS Version: S3420GP.86B.01.00.0053.081120151728, BIOS Date: 08/11/2015
AHCI-MOde check seems ok,
INtel(R) 5 Series/3400 Series SATA AHCI Controller, Intel, 08.06.2010, version: 9.6.4.1002

PLease see attached SERVER01_2.HTM for more systeminformations.
It seems that Intel
S3420GPV cannot handle Harddrives larger than 2TB in AHCI mode ?

Please help, what we can do to get it running...

S5520HC blocks traffic

$

Hi. There is a server with the matherbord S5520HC, Windows  Server 2008 r2 and several virtual machines on a Hyper-V. There are two network cards on the server, the first one is used directly by the server, another one is for the virtual machines.

There is a serious problem with blocking traffic from some of the computers on the network to the server and all the virtual machines. In case if I change IP address of the computer it discovers the server and all virtual servers for a while but later traffic blocking is enabled again. I assume that happens due to Trusted Execution technology. I have tried to turn it offin the BIOS but I have found the only "Execute disable bit" option. If I turn off this option - the virtual machines can be run due to not running the hypervisor.

I need your advice how to turn off the traffic blocking?

Error code 1072365566 when reinstalling Intel Active System Console when trying to set a new password.

I uninstalled the program originally since I was unsure what the original password was. It starts to install fine but after I type in the password, and click yes to bypass the weak password prompt, A box with that error code pops up. I have not been able to find much about it except for a site for IBM troubleshooting which said something about uninstalling C++ Redist 2005. I did so which then tried to install the System Console again which prompted me to install 2005 again. It then got to the same point and gave the same error code. I have also rebooted the server which did not seem to help. The server in question is an Intel S3420GP running Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard. Thanks for any help.

I'm assembling a new server.  New S1200SPL board.  I have 4 2TB Western Digital drives.  In any RAID configuration with RST, Windows 2016 Essentials does not see the RAID partitions at all.  I tried all variations and tried all drivers I can find online.  How can I get Windows to see the Disks so I can install the OS?

Thanks.

S2600CP doesn't go on with post, hang at code B7h 'DXE Configuration Reset'

Hi, I have a S2600CP4 board, bought brand new.

It runs well for several days (windows/debian).

I tried to reinstall the windows, it finised installing and was rebooting/posting, I took out the USB drive with setup files, then

it output obvious warning kind of beep sound.

Now it will not go on with post, after the first post screen, it stops there.

The dignostic LED passed the 4Fh Dxe IPL started and stopped at the B7h DXE Configuration Reset.

This is before the next post screen so there's beep sound at all.

Have tried to clear the COMOS settings by following the guide twice, did not help.

Have removed any PCIE cards there.

Remove ram module does gives warning no ram.

What does B7h 'DXE Configuration Reset' means and any idea how to solve it?

Best Regards,

R2208GZ4GC with A2U44X25NVMEDK NVME upgrade kit only 1 nvme detected

Hi,

we have upgraded one of our R2208's with the NVME upgrade kit. Replaced Riser nr.2 with the included riser (2 slots) and used the (top) 16x slot for the nvme interface card.

However we see only 1 out of 4 NVME's. The first one on the left is active (green LED), the other 3 show no led activity at all, not physically and not in bios/windows.

Additional power connecter is connected. We are using Intel P3520. Any idea what can cause only 1 out of 4 drives being detected? Mainboard Bios is current.
Could this be a lanes issue? As the server has all other slots full.

I have an ASUS T130-E7/P14 server with the Intel C204 Chipset. It has 4 x 1TB WD Red Sata 6 drives configured as Raid 5 with two volumes 100GB for the OS and 2.5TB for Data. I am running SBS 2011 and the raid is working fine (now I have activated write caching) Can you please advise which version on RST or Matrix Manager I need to install to monitor the raid from within Windows?

S1200SPL (DBS1200SPL) - Questions about technical specifications

$

Hi,

I hope I'm posting my questions in the right location, I am about to purchase a couple of S1200SPL (DBS1200SPL) boards.

Curiously these are the only motherboards on the entire market that fit absolutely every single hardware criterion I have - unfortunately I was unable to find some technical details about this model, I already checked the following pages:

Intel® Server Board S1200SPL

1) Does this motherboard support the Core i3-6100 CPU? I was only able to locate i3-6300T and i3-6320 on the lists but it would be rather strange if the UEFI of a motherboard by the CPU's manufacturer itself would only support select 6th-generation Core i3 CPUs (that are in the same TDP class).

2) Some of the motherboards are to be used in workstation systems that are not running 24/7, does the UEFI support:

a) S3 - Suspend to RAM

b) S4 - Hibernate

c) "Deep Sleep" in S4+S5, also known as "EuP/ErP ready"

3) Since the model seems to be EOL - are there any details about a sucessor that also supports Kaby Lake CPUs?

Thank you very much for your help!

S2600KPR: BMC FW Problems

$

I wanted to ask you about the Motherboard “S2600KPR” and some problems that I am facing with the new Firmware version .

With the latest FW version[1] I am getting this error message,

“Your session has expired due to inactivity. You will need to login again”

And with the old one that came with the Hardware [2] it is working flawless.

If I downgrade to 1.43 it works again. Is this a known issue?

I have also another question about BMCs and Ciphers.

Why do the BMC just works with CIPHERS 1? We would like to work with Cipher3 like we do with other products.

See,
