What options might I have to upgrade my workstation? Current configuration is Intel motherboard SC5520 with dual Xeon quad-cores, 5520, and 32g ECC RAM. Everything works great just need more processing power. Would like to optimize what I have if economically possible, before moving up to more expensive workstation.
Hi!
Im about to reinstall my server from 2012r2 to 2016, does anyone know if this will work? I cant find any drivers for Windows Server 2016 on the support page.
Hi All,
Are there any specifics about installing Centos 7 on a R2308WTTYSR Server?
How can i deploy OS from a USB?
Thank you in advance.

Hello I have a intel s1400sp that i just installed a RMM4 LITE and Dedicated management nic into. I then followed the user guide and setup the server management tab under BMC LAN Configuration in the bios accordingly. I then saved pressing F-10 and plugged in the network. Both lights are yellow and blink slowly, yet when i try to connect to the RMM i cannot connect. I have also checked with my router, network mapper and cmd ping test and i cannot see or ping it. I have changed around the ip address, set to static and also dynamic, removed the dedicated management nic and tried using the onboard ethernet as well but the result is still unchanged.
Hi guys,
That might be a really simple question for some of you guys but does that board support fake raid only ? In other words, does the O.s need to support the raid entirely ? I do select raid mode in bios but i don't see how i can configure it in the bios... I tried control -I , control -E when the server boot up but nothing show up...
Does that board need a add-in card installed ?
I did read that board support software raid...does that mean O.S dependable ?
Thanks guys for your help.
I'm trying to setup raid10 with 4 hd's...

Or if not have a recommendation on what to switch to, if it is not possible for some reasons.

Hello,
I have a problem with the server mainboard S1200SPL.
Quick information about the setup:
Problem description:
What I did so far:
The values of fan 4 were set to nearly 0 to test if the critical alert will go away, but it didn't. Sometimes fan 4 reports a valid RPM value of 400 RPM and status gets to normal. The fans are spinning in a slow mode so that the whole system is very quiet :-).
Questions:
A bit history: the chassis that I bought came with 3 3-pin-only-fans, that spinned up to 100%. The cpu fan was always a 4-pin fan. Before I changed the numbers in the SDR file the 3 chassis fans got a valid rpm read, but the cpu fan did not. After setting the values in the SDR file, the cpu got also a valid RPM value, but the chassis fans were spinning at 100%. I decided to exchange two of the chassis fan through 4-pin fans. The third chassis fan is disabled now. After placing the new fans in, all rpm values were set to 0 RPM and the status became critical although all fans are actually spinning. and the max rpm values are the same as before After that I lowered the critical values for the chassis fans but without any success.
What Linux drivers are available for the PWM fan controller on 2600WT boards? I ran sensors-detect followed by pwmconfig, but pwmconfig reports that "There are no pwm-capable sensor modules installed". I'm running Ubuntu 16.04.1 server. When I load the server heavily, the CPUs sometimes get throttled due to overheating. As a workaround, I configured the fans to always run at a high RPM in the BIOS, but that's very noisy.
Hello All,
I have an server with S2600CP mother borad. Now windows 2008 R2 installed in it with 8x4TB HDD. Please let me know the maximum capacity of Hard Drive for this Mother Boards. If I upgrade the OS to 2012 will this mother board support 64 TB disk. 8x8 TB HDD.
Many Thanks,
Austin Jose
Hi,
I've just been given an ancient, refurbished S2600CP2J motherboard complete with CPUs and RAM and would like to get it fully working again.
The obvious first step is to update the BIOS but the oldest EFI update package available (01.02.003) states that I need to have at least version 01.01.1002 before starting or "the update process may render the system not operatable!"
According to the BIOS screen, my system is currently SE5C600.86B.99.99.x034, build date 08/23/2011.
As I have no wish to kill the system before I get started, is there any way of upgrading it to 01.01.1002 as a minimum?
Thanks.

Does anybody know the naming rules for intel server? like R2208WT2YS、R2208WTTYC1R?
ASC gives the above message. I have removed ASC and RAID Web Console. Rebooted and installed ASC only. I have waited a day and still get the same message.
OS is Windows Server 2012
Server board is S5520HCR
Can anyone help please?
Hi. There is a server with the matherbord S5520HC, Windows Server 2008 r2 and several virtual machines on a Hyper-V. There are two network cards on the server, the first one is used directly by the server, another one is for the virtual machines.
There is a serious problem with blocking traffic from some of the computers on the network to the server and all the virtual machines. In case if I change IP address of the computer it discovers the server and all virtual servers for a while but later traffic blocking is enabled again. I assume that happens due to Trusted Execution technology. I have tried to turn it offin the BIOS but I have found the only "Execute disable bit" option. If I turn off this option - the virtual machines can be run due to not running the hypervisor.
I need your advice how to turn off the traffic blocking?
OpenCL™ Runtime 14.2 for Intel® CPU and Intel® Xeon Phi™ Coprocessors is marked as deprectaed and newer versions seem to only support CPUs.
Is there an update coming?
Hi,
We have 2 servers with S3420GPLX motherboards (3 of 2 banks). I can't find this motherboard model in your memory configuration tool.
According to this document http://www.intel.com/content/dam/support/us/en/documents/motherboards/server/s3420gp/sb/s3420gp_userguide1.pdf we should be able to upgrade our 2 servers with up to 32GB RAM each.
Sadly for us, Intel documentations is quite poor/old so there is no 8GB memory stick listed in their tested hardware document http://download.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/s3420gp/sb/serverboards3420gplx.pdf
So even when 32GB should be supported, there is no Intel documentation that tells with which modules you can reach that 32GB (3 x 2 banks).
I see other posts asking this question but no memory module is finally recommended. Most close to an answer, is a link to kingstone configurator for discontinued memories. Any help in what memory to buy?
Thank you very much
Seb
