Secure Boot PK Key change with S2600CWTR?

Hallo,

i try to install my own Secure Boot PK Cert but dont can find an way to remove the

pre installed. So Secure Boot runs in User Mode and i cant get in Setup Mode.

Is there a way to remove the PK key oder get Secure Boot into Setup Mode?

What i found is that some Intel Boards have the Bios Menu entry to set Secure Boot Mode to Custome but this dont.

With Keytools i dont can remove the installed PK without an auth file that i dont have.

And can i even prove that this PK is really from Intel?

s5520hc psu and beep signal 1-5-4-4

Hello!

I recently bought an used s5520hc mainboard. I tried to boot it with a 600w psu that is actually for desktopcomputers. It has only one 4-pin connector for the first cpu instead of two eight-pin connector for both cpu's. I just wanted to check if the board could boot. After a few seconds there was this beep signal: 1-5-4-4 ("Power good assertion timeout - Power unit sensors report soft power control failure offset."). Now my question is whether it is more likely that the board is bad (I read about some issues in some forums []Intel S5520HC and SR5650BRP]) or the problem can be solved by buying a sc5600 chassis with powersupplies (750w).

Cannot install Windows 7 EFI on R1304WTTGSR

I want to do a clean install of 64-bit Windows 7 Pro on the R1304WTTGSR server (S2600W motherboard). The specs for this server say Windows 7 EFI is compatible and has been tested with this server.

The specific configuration is

2 x Xeon processor E5 2630 v4

2 x 64 GB ECC LRDIMM DDR4 memory

2 x Seagate 8 TB hard drives

Panasonic BD Blu-ray drive

Radeon XFX R5 230 graphics card, installed in riser slot 1.

Mouse and keyboard connected via front USB port (using a splitter).

LAN-see below

The firmware ("BIOS") is set to boot using EFI. AFAIK, this means it cannot boot using BIOS ("Legacy") mode.

When I boot the Windows installation disk (latest version of Windows 7 x64 from Microsoft web site), using EFI, the screen shows first "Loading files", then "Starting WIndows". At this point:

- With nothing connected to the network ports (LAN), the system hangs. By "hangs" I mean nothing changing on the screen, no DVD or disk activity, no response to mouse or keyboard, and no response when front panel power button is pushed.

- With a CAT5 (Ethernet) cable connected between network ports 1 and 2, the system proceeds with some animation of the Windows flag (fading and brightening), but other than this, the system hangs as above. The reason for connecting the network ports is that someone posted that there is a bug in the Windows 7 install disk network drivers, that they hang when nothing is connected.

In either case, waits of several hours does not matter--the system is frozen.

I also thought of installing from USB drive, but without success. The Microsoft Windows7-USB-DVD-Download-Tool-Installer does not produce an EFI-bootable result, nor does Rufus 2.10.973 (the current version). I created a Windows 10 USB drive using a different Microsoft tool, MediaCreationTool, and it is EFI-bootable, but requires that I load the disk drivers.

Although it may be unrelated, the last thing I tried was resetting the BIOS to factory defaults (F9). That made my add-in video card stop working, even though it was enabled in the BIOS.

BIOS version is SE5C610.86B.01.01.0016 (3/31/2016). The server did not come with any software.

If anyone has successfully done this installation, please share the secret steps needed to do so.

no VGA signal on boot from HNS2600WP

I have a new to me H2312XXKR chassis with four HNS2600WP blades.  I added RAM and CPU to one blade and tried to boot it but get no VGA signal.  The same RAM DDR3 1600 and CPUs E5-2650 V2 work in another 2600WP blade just fine.  This one seems to be new and never used.  Is there a trick to setting up these boards for the first time?

Hello,

We installed a new server with motherboard s2600cw. The Server freezes completely and a force restart is required when virtual machines are running on SSD drivers. This doesn't happen on mechanical hard disks. We suspect some issue between the controller and the Gen2 SCSI virtual machines running on Hyper-V. Please assist.

Connecting all 12 drives on R2312WTTYSR

I recently purchased a R2312WTTYSR and wanted to make sure I was not just missing something obvious. Is there no way to connect all 12 drives to the server without also purchasing an additional SAS expander? I would have thought that if the system shipped with 12 bays as an option that the necessary equipment would be on board to connect all 12 drives to the motherboard, and perhaps there is but I am not seeing it. Any corrections or confirmation would be appreciated before I go out and purchase a SAS expander.

S5500BC graphics card

Hello,

I have made a potentially expensive and futile attempt at transforming a used S5500BC board in to a "super" desktop PC - consider this a bit of a story to share, and perhaps you might have some ideas on what I can do. I received the board and found the SSI-CEB format will fit in any case that fits an ATX board, so I went ahead and installed it in a non-Intel chassis. Given that this particular board has the need for only 1 4+4pin connector, I chose a Thermaltake Toughpower 750w PSU to power it. I got 2 x5670 CPUs and some ECC ram, fired it all up and it was working.

Naturally, to have a PC with a decent amount of CPU power, I wanted a decent graphics card to assist. Then I had found the 8x PCIe slots on this board were 8x in both throughput AND mechanically - naturally, any 16x PCIe graphics card will not fit.

Well, I wasn't willing to take no for an answer and decided to do what I've read about and seen videos of  - to perform some surgery on the board to allow it to fix a 16x PCIe graphics card...

This seems completely insane, but much like what I had read with others having success, it actually worked... I dremeled the rear edge of the slot away (making sure I didn't take out any pins on the slot, or destroy anything on the board itself) and it both fit and worked... I had a NVIDIA GTX 650 ti running seemingly without issue for about a week.

Well, after successfully putting it through some paces (prime95 for the CPUs to make sure they would not overheat, and Furmark to see if any power-related issues would surface when pushing the GPU to its limit) I got comfortable with using the system. Then on a particular occasion I shut down the computer. It was taking a while, so I held in the power button. Inexplicably the machine turned off but made some beeps which later I found correspond to a power failure. When I switched the system back on, I heard my graphics card fan at full speed, and no longer saw a screen (no signal)

I plugged a VGA cable back in to the onboard graphics to see if the board was still working, and it was - the screen displayed properly, although I didn't seem to be able to boot the OS at all, it was in an infinite loop...

I left the machine overnight and plugged back in the next day and initially I had the same issue. I unplugged it and moved the chassis in to a different room, and when powering it up, the graphics card was working again and I was able to boot back in to the OS. So, scratching my head I moved it back to its original location and it started again. I was beginning to think the problem was related to the power outlet, but when I moved back in to the other room and plugged it back in, the problem persisted, and continues to persist.

I wonder if I just made a complete mess by using a physically incompatible card and have possibly destroyed the board (despite it still being able to POST) or if I have a PSU issue? Well, luckily I was able to pick up the board very cheap, so not much money was lost as a result of my experiment. Well, I took receipt of another S5500BC, loaded it with all my parts, made sure it was working okay (which it was) then performed the surgery again and installed the GPU. It powered on and the GPU fan was normal. I went in to the BIOS to disable VT-d and after saving the changes, the board powered down, and upon restarting, the fans on the GPU were back at full speed and I was back to square one...

Well I am at a loss as to whether the issue is related to power or the GPU... If you buy in to my crazy experiment and think you can help that'd be great - otherwise feel free to have a laugh at how crazy the idea was!

Raid 1 rebuild with Rapid Storage Technology

I bought a Dell computer which came with a single drive and Intel Rapid Storage Technology software (mirrored drives were not an option).  I then bought an identical drive and built a Raid 1 mirror using the Intel software, which went smoothly.  At some point a couple months later the original Dell drive failed.  Dell sent me a new drive, again identical.  I want to rebuild the mirror but am nervous that I will accidentally wipe the only working drive.  The original drive was on SATA 0 and the one I had purchased on SATA 1.  After the failure I moved the working drive to SATA 0 and the replacement drive to SATA 1. Instructions that I've read say to land your cursor on the new drive and click 'rebuild volume' but that is not how it is working.  Under "Status" I am given the option to rebuild and when clicked I am presented with an option to do so, but it's unclear which drive is which (see screenshots).

I would hope the software does not allow you to wipe your working drive but cannot find documentation to support that.  Just nervous about losing the entire working drive.  Can someone assist?  Thanks in advance for any help.

A2U8X25S3HSDK 8x2.5" hotswap drive's not spinning (S2600CP2J mobo)

Hello people,

I have connected the 4 pin power connector into the bay backplane PCB, I have connected the mini-SAS to x4 SATA cable 1 per black sata port on the motherboard (as its advised not to use the 2 white SATA ports). I have also connected the IC2 cable, the sata ports are in AHCI mode. When I power on the server I can see the amber light on the drive cages flash for 0.1 seconds or so but after that its dead, drives do not spin and are not seen in the BIOS.

I have recently run an BIOS upgrade process that upgraded various parts of the motherboard and it did detect the 8x2.5" hotswap bay within that so I believe its working as it should be.... yet its not seen within the BIOS or windows. Am I missing a BIOS setting somewhere or something?

Intel S2600CP2J motherboard

Intel 8x 2.5inch hot swap bay (A2U8X25S3HSDK) comes with the IC2 + mini-sata to 4x SATA cable.

Any pointers will be much appreciated,

thanks!

Intel HD 2500 on Server 2008 R2 (or any Server OS)

I have a machine that has integrated Intel HD 2500 graphics on it.  I am able to find drivers for client OS's like Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10, etc but nothing for Servers.  They do detect the hardware appropriately and install but upon a reboot after installation the Windows logo starts and then everything goes black.  Uninstalling the driver via Safe Mode brings Windows back up but using the Generic Graphics driver from Windows.  Has anyone successfully been able to get HD 2500's to work under a server os?

sr2600urbrp falsasmp2

Hi.

There are two partworked servers:

1. sr2600urlxr with no boot. Bad cooling is the reason. No beeps and 8led indication. system led is amber. With another type of PSU - 1544 and 1542 beeps with random of two volumes of sounds. Probably MB is failed.

2. sr2600urbrp with no boot. 1544 and 1542 beeps. Probably PSUs are failed.

Need to assemble server with SAS.

With server 2. midplane, PSUs, processors replaced from 1., new RAM installed.

It's started, but no midplane BIOS screen appears (like "press CTRL+G for enter setup"). In main BIOS no entries for SAS - only onboard SATA. And no any info about DVD in backplane.

Firmware upgrades looks good. Versions in BIOS are changed.

Googling show me intersting file in FRU firmware upgrade - MASTER.CFG. I modified it - remove set for sr2600urbrp and force "CHASSIS_MENU" for select URLX as target system.

It's looks good, no errors messages while upgrade, but after reset no SAS yet and new upgrade with original MASTER.CFG shows URBRP again.

Is there right way to add falsasmp2 to sr2600urbrp system?

Also i'm not sure that falsasmp2 is not failed and i have no system to test it. But frontpanel buttons are worked, fans - rotated, cooler above SAS chip is warmed.

And sorry for my english.

UPD. There is RMM3 module onboard. FRU firmware detect urlx but no sas:

S2600CP keeps rebooting before post

I have a S2600CP with 2 e5-2670. when I received the motherboard, I booted it to check CPU and RAM and worked fine.

Now, 2 weeks later as I'm assembling the server, the motherboard powers on for a second, then powers off(all fans spin for a second), if left untouched it will sporadically try too boot for a second and shut off(in a loop).

I tried to remove CPUs and RAM and it beeps as expected complaining for the CPU.

I removed the motherboard from the chassis.

With a single CPU it behaves the same way, same with just one or two sticks of RAM.

I tried a different power supply with the same result.

I changed the CMOS battery and reset the BIOS.

If I power up with the BIOS jumper set to "reset to defaut" and then boot, it beeps with 1-5-4-2 that is DC power loss.

All the  PSU I have tested are 850W.

Any idea?

thank you for your time
