s5000xvn doesn't start: POST red-amber-red-off

My s5000xvn doesn't start.

No beeps, no screen signal, POST LEDS stops at Red-Amber-Red-Off state, corresponding to datasheet it means: "Entered EFI driver execution phase (DXE)".

 

My configuration:

single Xeon 5060 (tried different one for testing),

approved memory - one dimm configuration (tested 4 different dimms),

no hdd (hotswap case disconnected),

sc5400base chassis,

550W PU (also tested 700W),

no other peripherals (even a video adapter).

 

My system had been working fine for several weeks until i shut it down - in ususal way, without powerloss or smth like that.

 

All coolers work fine, PSU voltages also seem to be fine after startup, but bios is not loading, i think. If i try to switch on my motherboard without processor or with wrong dimm slot filled, it beeps. So i hope my problem is not some damaged electronics.

 

I tried to clear CMOS, to force second bios bank boot by jumper - nothing helps.

What else sould i try to do?

Is there an opportunity to update bios somehow in my situation?

S5520UR Reboots unexpectedly - Nothing on the logs

Hello,

 

Ihave a S5520UR server running with  Ubuntu 14.04.4 LTS (GNU/Linux 3.16.0-62-generic x86_64).

 

For (apparently) no reason the server reboots randomly and I can't find nothing on the logs prior to the reboots.

 

Does anyone know where could I search for the causes ?

RS3WC080 Windows 10 Startup Issue

Complement:

MB:      ASUS X99-E WS/USB 3.1

BIOS:   ASUS UEFI

CPU:    Intel i7-5820K

RAM:    G.Skill F4-3000C15-4GRBB  32GB DDR4

Drive:   Hitachi HUS156060VLS60 (B)  600GB SAS                              

OS:      Windows 10 Pro

Problem:

            On power-up the controller and drive are recognized by BIOS and controller BIOS runs with no apparent problem.  However, as Windows begins to load, the controller fails and the associated drive is not listed as available in Windows.  Error returned is code 10.

            By chance I discovered that when the machine goes into “sleep” mode or is induced manually and then reawakened, disabling and re-enabling the controller in Windows Device Manager restarts the controller and the drive is discovered by Windows and then is addressable as expected.  Disabling and re-enabling the controller in Device Manager from initial boot will not restart the controller.

            This workaround is a major inconvenience.  The HDD connected to the controller is used to back-up a pair of Adata SATA SSDs running RAID0 from the MB controller.  If the OS was expected to run from the RS3WC080 and attached drive the system would be totally inoperable.

            Any assistance in resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated.

I don't see it under the Server Management tab in the BIOS. Does anyone know how to get to it?

 

Board part # is G62254-406

BMC firmware rev is 1.13.8619

 

We configured it but now cannot access via http:.

 

looking to change the IP so that we can get to it again.

RMM3 Logs Say "Drive Presence - Asserted" but nothing shows up in the Linux Logs

I'm trying to replace a disk and I see in the RMM3 event logs that the disk was deasserted and asserted but nothing is to be seen in the linux logs... Nothing in dmesg, smartctl, fdisk, etc. I've tried rebooting the server and a different disk. Any ideas?

I have an SC5600 chasis and two E5645 processors. I recon that my current S5520SC motherboard supports a certain level of hardware upgrades.

If I only want to replace my motherboard and keep the chassis and the processors, what motherboard should I buy as a more recent version (supports DDR5 for example)?

Intel raid controller RS2BL080 cannot access raid bios console after firmware update

Hello,

 

I've updated my raid controller to the firmware version 12.9.0-0037 from 12.7.0-xxxx (Couldn't update to the newest version yet) from the web console 2. Now when I boot or try to go into the raid bios console I get this :

I've tried to unplug all my hard drives, without success.

 

Any idea what I could do to fix this (downgrade the firmware, etc).

ESRT2 RAID drivers not functioning

Hi.

Off late I'm finding that the latest version [17.01.2015.1001, 16.03.2015.0519, 16.03.2014.1212] ESRT2 RAID driver for Linux [Download ESRT2 RAID driver for Linux*] is not functional either with RHEL 6.x/ CentOS 6.x. I had old version [15.xx] that use to work fine.

 

Tried the same on several Intel boards like S2600CW2, S1200V3RPS, S2600CP2, S2400CW2 but to no avail.

 

Gyst of the activities in order as follows:

  1. Download the driver and select the correct .img file matching the OS version
  2. Use dd/ rawwrite2.exe to write the image to floppy disk drive
  3. Connect drives for RAID on AHCI ports
  4. Configure SATA as RAID - ESRT2
  5. Create necessary LUNs
  6. Start the installation of RHEL 6.x using the following command-line at Linux prompt:    dd nodmraid blacklist=ahci
  7. Linux prompts to insert the Driver Update Disk
  8. I point to the USB floppy disk containing the DUD

Just after it reads the driver diskette, it shows "This driver is invalid for this version of OS" warning message.

 

The installation can continue but would not detect the LUNs. However, if nodmraid is not mentioned, all the individual physical drives (not LUNs) are shown with /dev/mapper/ddf* format.

 

Please help in understanding the correct procedure of driver installation.

Intel S5000PSL support for E5420 CPU ?

Hi,

 

I have a Intel S5000PSL Server mainboard and like to upgrade the CPU's to Intel's E5420.

 

The online description say that BIOS version 84 or later wil support the series 5200 and 5400 CPU's.

 

If I put them on the board it wont boot and I receive error codes like:

 

19A = Fatal Voltage mismatch

 

There is also the thing about non-refresh board wich is not entire clear for me.

 

Is this a hardware or software limitation problem?

Hi, i'm setting up a renderfarm that is based on the Intel Server Board S2600CP4 and Windows 7 Professional x64. So far I was not able to find the right Graphics Display Driver and would really appreciate if somebody could point me to the right one.

 

Other Syteem Specs:

- Intel  Server Board S2600CP4

- 2 X Intel Xeon E5-2670 8 Core @ 2,6GHz /Turbo 3,00GHz

- 32 GB DDR3 Ram (8 x 4GB Dimms)

- Adaptec 6805 Raid Controller 8Port SAS/Sata 6GBs

problème de detection alimentation serveur mfsysv25v2 apres remplacement

bonjour à tous après remplacement d'une des deux alimentation d'un serveur mfsysv25v2 sous garantie l'alimentation à bien le voyant vert à l'arrière mais n'est pas reconnue par le system et j'ai d'autre erreur sur le contrôle mais je ne sais pas les interpréter, est ce que l'alimentation remplacé par retour d'Intel ne serais pas défectueuse? merci par avance

S2600CW not detecting K2200

Hi,

 

I have an S2600CW with Xeon E5-2620v3 running vmware ESXi 6 and i am trying to get an nVidia quadro K2200 working but no matter what slot i put it in the server board never detects it and therefore vmware cant use it.

 

I have tested this card in a Dell T110 server and it also did not detect it but when i try it in a desktop PC it works fine.

 

What am i missing here? any help would be appreciaited.

Raid web console error

We have a server that has been giving us the following errors in the raid web console.

 

Critical 94 seconds from reboot:

And there is no HDD plugged into enclosure 0

raid Configuration on intel s2600cp motherboard

Hi All,

 

i have first time configured to raid ,  On board RAID on interls2600cp mother.

 

I have done the following steps

 

1) i have set raid mode in BIOS > Advance > Mass storage controller Configuration

 

ACHI Capable SATA Controller   [RAID Mode]

 

 

and restart the system and trying to configure RAID using Ctrl + E , Ctrl + A, Ctrl + S

 

But not showing RAID Utility.


Please guide me for on board raid configuration in s2600cp mother board OR how to configure RAID option in Intel motherboard

S2600CP Thermal Margin sensors reading as not available.

I have a S2600CP motherboard, with two Xeon E2660 processors on it. It's in a non-intel chassis (a chenbro 1U case)

 

For some reason, the thermal margin sensors on the motherboard are not being recognized. This is leading to the BMC throwing an warning, and the fans being stuck at 100% all the time.

 

I've updated the BIOS and BMC to the latest version, as well as updated the FRU, and reprogrammed/validated the SDR configuration so the fans are set up properly, and they're correctly detected in the IPMI sensor readings dialog.

 

What can cause the thermal margin sensors to stop registering? All the thermal margin sensors are showing as "Unknown" with a reading of "Not Available".

 

This is doubly confusing as linux can see the temperature sensors in the CPU without issue, using the "coretemp-isa-0000" and "coretemp-isa-0001" interfaces.
