Hi,

I have network problem with my Intel MFSYS22 (Current Build Version: 6.10.100.20120307.34729) Switch module.

Product NameGigabit Ethernet Switch
ManufacturerIntel Corporation
Manufacture Date2008-02-03 10:40:26 PM
Part NumberD70739-404
Serial NumberBZTC80500085
Asset Tag
Up Time0 days 0:46:35
Product IDINTEL_SM
HW VersionD70739-404
Boot Version1.0.0.6
SW Version1.0.0.27

Once or twice a day it loses network connectivity on external and internal ports. It's status becomes "Unmanageable" until I remove it from chassis and put it back.

This issue start about month ago, but for first time it loses network connectivity once at 10 days. Now it loses twice times for a day.

How can I resolve this issue?

Can I access BMC through NIC 2 in a S5520UR?

$

Hi. I'm trying to access the BMC through NIC 2 on a S5520UR.

I tried syscfg and ipmitool for setting up the BMC LAN configuratioin, but both says that BMC channel 2 is not a LAN channel. Only channels 1 and 3 are available. Channel 1 is associated with NIC1 and Channel 3 is for RMMI AFAIK.

The specifications says:

"The Integrated BMC hardware includes two dedicated 10/100 network interfaces.

These interfaces are not shared with the host system.

At any time, only one dedicated interface may be enabled for management traffic.

The default active interface is the NIC 1 port"

what suggests me that the NIC 2 can be used.

However on the MAC address definition it says:

"Each Intel® Server Board S5520UR has the following four MAC addresses assigned to it at the Intel factory.

NIC 1 MAC address

NIC 2 MAC address – Assigned the NIC 1 MAC address +1

Integrated BMC LAN Channel MAC address – Assigned the NIC 1 MAC address +2

Intel® Remote Management Module 3 (Intel® RMM3) MAC address – Assigned the NIC 1 MAC address +3"

That just talks about one LAN channel.

Intel Deployment Assistant Release Notes says:

"Boot Side Features Details:

...

Configure System Management (Baseboard Management Controller Communication/Users)

    - Enable access to the BMC through NIC 1 and/or NIC 2 and/or Serial Port"

But booting it just let me configure LAN channel 1 associated to onboard NIC 1. So I'm a bit confused.

The question is if it is possible to set NIC 2 as a port to access the BMC and how can that be done?

Thanks.

Santiago.

When configuring the RAID array on a brand new RS3DC080 PCI-E card, the BIOS hangs when selecting RAID10. The disk indicators at the server front panel do not show any disk activity. All other RAID levels can be selected without a problem.

Server systems is R2308GZ4GC.

The reserve battery of cache-memory module AXXRPCM3 (RAID controller Intel SRCSASJV) as broken down.

Than it is possible to replace it (only the battery)?  What analogue or compatible?

Thank's.

Cannot connect to the internet using Windows Server 2012 R2.

Hi,

I am using a Windows Server 2012 R2 server. I am unable to connect to the internet with a wired connection.

Here are the things I have tried already:

- Updated possible drivers, but all drivers are saying there is no Intel adapter been found. On my Windows Server 2012 it still was. The exact error message: "Cannot install drivers. No Intel(R) Adapters are present in this computer".

- Checked for the hardware id's: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1503&SUBSYS_20028086&REV_04 Link: Intel® Download Center Sinds it is not for Windows Server I am curious if there is an appropriate driver for this server.

System model: DH67BL

Bit version: 64 bit.

If there is any information you need which is related to this issue, please let me know.

VDs on S1200BTL & Windows 7

Hello,

My end goal is this: Set up RAID 10 on 4 HDDs with Windows 7 Pro.

This is similar to this post, but I'm having trouble implementing the answer.  Here is the situation:

System: P4303BTLSHCN

Board: S1200BTL

OS: Windows 7 Professional, 64-bit

Drives: Four (4) 2TB hard drives (& one DVD-ROM)

Bottom line: How do I finish with Win 7, RAID 10, and 4 TB storage, accessible through Windows?

Sticking points: Windows partition capabilities, RAID restrictions, virtual drive creation/modification . . .

More background:

The aforementioned post says to make a smaller virtual drive and install Windows on that.  I'm using two utilities in trying to create such a partition, and a third trying to set up RAID:

  1. Intel Embedded RAID II Configuration Utility (Ctrl+E)
  2. GParted Live
  3. Intel Server Board S1200BT Family Server Deployment Toolkit 4.0 (bootable CD G20500-002)

Toolkit CD only offers low-level RAID, so I've mostly been ignoring that.  If I create the partitions in GParted, I don't see any recognition of them in the Configuration Utility.  If I create a virtual drive (tried 25 and 50 GB) in the Configuration Utility, it only allows RAID 0 for the small one, and then restricts the RAID level for the larger drives.  In addition to just making one small partition and having the rest go more or less automatically, I've tried making 8 partitions/VDs (one small & one large on each drive) so as to keep all the same size for RAID, but that doesn't seem to matter.  If I go straight to configuring RAID 10 without any prior divisions, it doesn't allow me to alter the size of the resulting drive.

Earlier in this process I set up RAID 10, installed Windows, and found only 2 TB available (on the C drive, with no other drives visible).  During startup it listed the drives and recognized RAID 10 implemented.  I checked BIOS and Config Utility settings.  The other post appeared to be essentially the same situation, which is why I'm trying to make a boot partition.  I've also tried advanced options on the Windows install, but apparently it can't handle more than 2 TB.  When I did have Windows installed (with all updates), I tried everything I could manage on the Toolkit CD, Intel System Management Software (G10627-002) CD, and driver program available from downloadcenter.intel.com.

Fortunately all of the drives are new so I can format them all I want.  For various reasons I'm trying to keep to Windows as the final OS, but I'm happy to use Linux in the process--but I can't claim to be an expert at it.  My tech knowledge is well above average, but everything I know is only what I've (taught myself to be able to get) done.  If you tell me to do some standard operation, if I don't know it I can ask Google.  I just need a direction to look.

Thanks very much.

Quadro NVS 440 with Intel Motherboard S1200V3RPS showing garbage during BIOS screen

Helllo, THis is my first post on the forum. Please help me with the following issue.

I am using Graphics card from my old PC on the new Intel server board S1200V3RPS. First I am able to install OpenSuse 13.1 without inserting Quadro graphic card. Then I insert the graphics card and try to start the system. At the time of startup, I see garbage on the two monitors I have connected to the graphics card. Then the linux system loads and the card appears to be working fine and I am able to install legacy drivers for the card on the linux systtem.

However, the issue is that I do not have any access to BIOS screen at the time of startup. Please let me know how can I fix this?

Very noisy fan 3 on S2600CW

$

When the server is idle all the temperatures on my server are below 45 C. 4 fans are throttled down to 800 RPM, but fan 3 is stuck at 8500 RPM and makes a very high noise. I've already updated BIOS/ME/FRU/SDR and the script correctly detects the chassis (redundant, non-HSBP), but the middle fan remains stuck. The PWM offset is set to 0, the fan profile is Acoustic and the CPU Power and Performance Policy is Balanced Power.

Is there anything I can do to improve this?

CentOS 6.6 Intel SRCSAS18E

I have been running an intel mobo with hardware RAID and 6 x 1TB Drives for about four years.  The server stopped booting a few weeks ago and I am trying to resurect it and if possible salvage the data. It was not even showing up in POST cycle as a controller, so I moved it to another board I had around and it shows up, but still not working correctly.    The original system was running CentOS 5.x and controller moved to new system running CENTOS 6.6

Issue:  RAID SRCSAS18E RAID 5 Volume not showing up.  Cannot do "ctrl+G" from POST stage (it pauses for about 45seconds during post).  OS driver installed as well as CLI and web tool but controller does not show up to web tool, and when I issue command to re-flash (likly it would be an upgrade as I don't recall last time I did a firmware flash on it) it does not give me very useful response.

Questions:

1) Has anyone any experiance and futher direction on how to debug this further?

2) Does anyone have this RAID controller running CentOS / RHEL 6.6?

3) The inabiltiy to do <ctrl +G> and UEFI is not good. What I do have is a note in my system change control about something like this which noted to get by it by "disabling all other controller BIOS on motherboard" .  I would like to validate if others have this issue, and or work around for this.

OA2.x Supported by S2600KP

!

HI All,

Very simple question does the new S2600KP board support Microsoft OEM Activation (OA) 2.x? IE Windows 2012R2...

I am unable to activate using AMISLP.exe, I get an error 'The SLP Driver is not available in the firmware Image'

I think it is something missing in the latest BIOS, maybe it can only run OA 3.0?

Intel ASC memory consumption

Hello,

after installation of Intel Active System Console on serverboard S2600CP and Windows Server 2012 R2 (only Hyper-V role installed), these processes start to consume lots of memory:

     platform_handler.exe

     policyservice.exe

around 2GB each, platform_handler in 2 or 3 instances, so around 6GB of memory together. After restart, everything is ok, but these processes are slowly growing up to 2GB.

I have tried ASC 6.1.14 and 7.0.20, both with the same result. After uninstall of ASC everything is ok.

Is there any solution? I would like to use ASC, but 6GB of memory in unacceptable.

Thanks.

Hi

Please can someone help I have a Server which has been working for about three running a S5000psl board for years with no problems.

Recently 2 of the drive no longer being used were removed from the server and it now no longer wants to boot.

When we power up the fans spin and the LED flash a couple of different combinations but always finish on the same MSB amber and LSB red status light flashing green.

Have tried resetting BIOS to default I have removed all non essential add-on cards have tried with 1 x processor and minimal Ram but know difference.

If I completely remove the RAM i get beeps from the board so board seems ok. tested processor in another server they are working and RAM.

Thanks

Hello

My first discussion here, im wondering if it's possbile to run a RS3WC080 in HBA mode? I'm about to build a NAS with ZFS and i have a RS3WC080 raid controller laying around, but im not sure if its possbile to make the controller passthrough the drives to FreeNAS as just drives. Anyone have any experience with this controller?

Intel S1200btl problems with 2TB limit

Hi, I'm trying to make this motherboard work and have had many issues with it but I'm down to the last one!  The motherboard doesn't recognize drives bigger than 2TB.  I installed the lastest BIOS release.  I have a couple of these motherboards, the issues are identical on both.  If one single drive is bigger than 2TB it shows up as 746GB in the RAID setup at the end of POST.  In the MB, I have it set to use RAID and  Intel RST.  It sounds strange that a pretty new MB would have this problem so I'm thinking maybe there's something I'm missing.  This all happens pre-OS, but the OS has the same problem.  I ran an Intel utility that said the OROM didn't support drives over 2TB.

If I setup a RAID5 with, for instance, 4 1TB HDDs, it works.  I get a RAID volume that's about 3TB - looks fine in the OS as well.  The only thing it can't handle is a single drive that's over 2TB.

Any ideas?  Can this be fixed?

iaStor Event 9 - RAID 82801GR/GH

Had one hard drive fail. It was a WD ST3250310AS. I replaced both old discs with WD ST3250310CS discs. Now, I get iaStor timeout errors in Win 2003 (event 9) right after the SQL server does a database backup (~20GB). Sometimes the PC locks up upon completion of the backup. Do I have bad discs? Do I need to upgrade software/driver for the controller? Below is the error event and the report from the Intel Matrix Storage Console. Thanks.

How to connect two ISPs on a single serverboard S1200v3rps?

$

I am using Intel serverboard S1200v3rps which is having two ethernet ports. Network uptime is of critical importance and I want to minimise network downtime. Currently, I have connection from a single ISP. Whenever there is some issue with that ISP, I am experiencing downtime. Now, I want to take a second connection from a different ISP and connect my server to both ISPs simultaneously. How can I make the configuration such that the server shares the connection provided by both ISPs and if one ISP goes down, the server starts to use the other ISP completely?

intel RST raid 1 preserve data greyed out

Hello, at the moment i'm bit frustrated, my situation looks like this:

1. i had intel RST raid 1 (seagate 1TB constelletion x 2 ) setup (in bios set Raid and intel RST), raid 1 was working, but both DRIVES started to fail (realocated sector count and other smart errors).

2. I bought new 4TB seagate raid disks

3. I removed one old 1Tb hard drive and put in new 4TB hard drive and marked as spare, raid rebuilded with new and old drive

4. i removed 1Tb hard drive and resseted 4Tb drive from CTRL-I as non raid drive

5. i streched 4Tb raid drive to maximum in disk management (because it is MBR-NTFS not GPT it's not bigger than 2TB...), for now 2Tb enough later i will reinstall server to 4TB and GPT, but i dont know how to proceed...

6. i updated server firmware to latest (intel server board 1200bt), and the installed latest intel RST software.

what i wan't to accomplish is create RAID from intel RST raid 1 preserving data

intel_rst.JPG

but how You see this option is greyed out...

And here is screenshot of disk management (i deleted other backups disks to better understand):

disk_management.JPG

if anyone would advise me, what to do? How to build raid1 with preserving data?

Should i backup everthing and reinstall windows server with GPT partitions, and then how to restore everything as it was?

And here is screenshot from CTRL-I (it was taken before i upgraded intel RST software)

Thank You in advance...

Very noisy fan 3 on S2600CW

When the server is idle all the temperatures on my server are below 45 C. 4 fans are throttled down to 800 RPM, but fan 3 is stuck at 8500 RPM and makes a very high noise. I've already updated BIOS/ME/FRU/SDR and the script correctly detects the chassis (redundant, non-HSBP), but the middle fan remains stuck. The PWM offset is set to 0, the fan profile is Acoustic and the CPU Power and Performance Policy is Balanced Power.

Is there anything I can do to improve this?
