XXV710DA2OCP 25GbE OCP Modules in S2600WF Wolf Pass Systems

Will the XXV710-DA2 OCP Module (XXV710DA2OCP{1,2}) work in S2600WF Wolf Pass systems, specifically in the R2308WFTZS platform?

If so, should one get XXV710DA2OCP1 (OCP Type 1 Mezzanine Module with 8mm stacking) or XV710DA2OCP2 (OCP Type 2 Mezzanine Module with 12mm stacking)?

I presume the Type 1 with 8mm stacking since the S2600WFT board already has a cutout in the area designated for the OCP mezzanine module.

Intel S1200SPLR, Where is revision ( rev ) number ( no ) ?

Hi All,

Please, can any one tell me where to find the revision number on this board (Intel S1200SPL(R) ? I looked around the board every where and can't find it? Your help will be appreciated? There is a serial number but does not help?

By the way the board is by itself and has not installed. Just need the rev number to get the compatible parts.

Cheers, Madura

S1200SPOR External (PCI-e) display adapter not working

Hi

We have connected a PCI-e display adapter (nVidia) inside this server, Windows 10 does not see any new hardware, we do not get any video from this adapter (on boot or Windows), we have the BIOS drivers loaded.

Are there any standards that need to be met in the new card for the system to see it?  How can we tell in BIOS if it sees the new adapter?

The card we are testing (Jaton nVidia VIDEO-PX628GS-LP1), works in other Intel boards (DX79xx series).

RMS3CC080 Windows 10 driver (what is Trimode)

Hi

The below page are the drivers for the RMS3CC080

Downloads for Intel® Integrated RAID Module RMS3CC080

The only driver that seems to have drivers on this page under Windows 10 are : Download SAS Hardware RAID Driver for Windows*which are version 6.713.05.00

So what are the Trimode drivers? (Download RAID Trimode Driver for Windows*) version 7.701.04.00 which says there compatible in the text document but when looking in the driver listing (trying to load them in to Windows 10) it doesnt list RMS3CC080 in there at all (so wont load).

S1200SPOR video driver (Windows 10)

Hi

This page has the drivers for the S1200SPOR (Intel® Server Board S1200SPOR Product Specifications) however only the CHIP drivers are really listed here, which do not contain a VGA driver (Windows 10 uses "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter (Low Resolution)"

I understand its a server, but isnt there a driver for this board? we really need a resolution higher than 1024 x 768 from the base system (i assume there would be one for the S1200SPLR as this has a HDMI connector),

Intel RAID Web Console 3 - how do we add servers to the GATEWAY server

Hi, downloaded RAID Web Console 3 from here Download Intel® RAID Web Console 3 for Windows*

- Install the GATEWAY server on a remote machine, can log in ok.

- Installed the RAID driver version (SAS v6.713.05.00 (Trimode wont load, even though its listed there doesnt appear to be drivers in the package for this card)) for the RMS3CC090 on a S1200SPOR server running Windows 10 Pro

- Installed the DIRECT AGENT service for RAID Web Console 3 on the above server.

Logging in to the GATEWAY server, then pressing "Re-discover servers", this remote Windows 10 S1200SPOR with the RMS3CC080 never shows up.

We have disabled the firewall on the Windows 10 system

We have disabled the firewall on the gateway server

Is there no way of adding servers to the gateway server?

All documentation for Intel RAID Web Console 3 says the RMS3CC080 is fully supported...

Many Thanks

M.2 PCIe SSD in S2600BPB

Hello,

I have a Buchanan Pass system with the S2600BPB motherboard (XXLRE chassis, HNS2600BPB  compute module). An Intel PCIe M.2 SSD is attached to riser slot 2 (back). However, the SSD is not visible in the OS.

* BIOS version: SE5C620.86B.00.01.0009.101920170742

* OS: CentOS 7.4

It's not just one bad system - I have 2 chassis, 8 modules; same issue.

If I add HHHL PCIe SSDs (P4600 for example), I can see the drives as /dev/nvme* devices.

Is there a BIOS setting that is needed? I have tried both UEFI and Legacy boot options.

R1304SPOSHORR and hot swap hard drive bay light pipes

$

Hi, please see below image...

A = Hard drive GREEN status light when in use (can not be seen, i had to take 15 pictures before i even could see this light)

B = Server power / hard drive activity and warning lights

VERY CLOSE image looking down on the back of the hard drive tray and back plane

C = RAID back plane green

D = Hard drive tray light pipe

Cant actually see the green LED (A) on the drive bay (we have tried a number of drives), we thought was a damaged back plane, however as you can see from image (C) this LED is bright (however not as bright as the power light) (B).  You will notice the light pipe (D) on the back of the drive tray is out of alignment from the back plane by about 3-4mm, meaning no light gets down the pipe.

Its the same on every bay....

I notice these trays have no base plate so the sides are not a fixed width, did this cost cutting exercise result in not being able to see the light down the pipe to the front of the drive?

The Chenbro version of this same case has drive trays with a brace to hold the sides rigid.....  ive not seen this issue with other Intel server chassis, but then all the other Intel drive trays had a base to hold the sides rigid as well.

S1200SPLR - SAS Module Compatibilty Questions

$

Hi,

I'm using a S1200SPLR board with an E3-1245v6 CPU (latest Firmware version 03.01.1029 installed)

I'm looking for the most basic SAS Module option with SAS 12 Gbps ports (that can operate without any RAID features active) so that the operating system has direct access to the hard drives for software defined storage solutions.

The S1200SPLR has a fourth expansion slot "SAS Module slot". However I'm unable to find a compatible SAS module for that motherboard. If you check the motherboard's product page under "Compatible Products" and "RAID Products", you only get regular PCIe add-in cards ("Low Profile MD2 Card"), nothing for that special SAS module slot.

Is there a product to supply the S1200SPLR's SAS module slot with a SAS 12 Gbps port?

Thank you very much for your help!

Hi

We have the on board BMC, we only use the Dedicated Management NIC which has an IP address and works (we use the KVM alot).  On page Configuration > Alert Email we select the LAN channel, then setup the SMTP IP address and other details (see image), then on page Configuration > Alerts we select Lan Channel "Dedicated Management NIC and under Alert Destination #1 we put in the email address (which is the same network@ashleygriffin.co.uk), when i then press "Send Test Alert" we get nothing.

It doesnt even try to connect to the email server (i have the logs to see this).

Whats going wrong here?

How to clear UEFI secure boot keys (or enter Setup Mode) on S1200SPO

$

I have a S1200SPO with a Xeon E3-1270v6 with versions:

IFWI: S1200SP.86B.BR.64.2017.39.3.01.0729.selfboot

BIOS: S1200SP.86B.03.01.0026.092720170729

I'd like to clear the installed UEFI secure boot keys, which requires entering Setup Mode. I can't seem to enter Setup Mode. Under Boot Maintenance Manager, under secure boot, all I can do is enable or disable secure boot. I'm using the KeyTool.efi (part of efitools) and I can verify that the board is in User Mode, which doesn't allow me to clear the PK.

Is there a way to do this from the BIOS? (maybe a different BIOS version?)

Can I do this somehow by modifying SPI flash directly? I have access to the board and tools to read/write SPI flash.

Thanks,

Josh

4K-native SATA HDD non-RAID support in S2600JF and S2600GZ systems with C600 series PCH

$

I have a few racks of S2600GZ, S2600JF, and S2600WT systems that currently use 512N/512E-formatted SATA HDDs in non-RAID mode (no Intel HW RAID, ESRT2, or RSTe - just ... JBOD) that we would like to continue supporting for our users for at least a few more years if not longer, but one of my concerns is the future availability of 512N/512E-formatted HDDs as 4K-native HDDs become the norm.

While the S2600WT systems are new enough to support 4K-native SATA HDDs, the S2600GZ and S2600JF systems are old enough that state of support for 4K-native formatted HDDs is not quite clear.

The bit of searching for info I've found only mentions support with Intel RAID (HW RAID, RSTe, ESRT2) which indicates a "pretty definite no" for that scenario but says nothing about our non-RAID HDD use.

Support for 4Kn and 512e Advanced Format Disks with Intel® RAID...

TA-1085-4: 4Kn and 512e Advanced Format with Intel® RAID and Intel®...

Will the C600-series PCH found in S2600JF/S2600GZ platforms support 4K-native formatted HDDs if used in non-RAID setups (just as plain SATA HDDs) or should I start strategically stockpiling 512N/512E formatted HDDs for the future?.

S2600CP4 board w/E5-26XX v2 Processors and PCIe Bus configuration.

Good evening,

Just wanted to verify before I purchase, that if I use E5-26xx v2 processors in a S2600CP4 that I can "adjust" a PCIe bus speed. I have a card that has a PCIe 3 bus, however the board has "throttled" that to PCIe 2.

Thanks much

Hello all,

I´ve been reading some posts about this recurrent problem, I´ve already did the firmware update via EFI, my chassis is detected and the fan´s speed slows down for a few seconds, but after reboot, it gets ultra loud again. Any suggestions?

My system is: Dual Xeon X5650 - S5520SC motherboard + SC5560WS chassis.

Thanks,

Ricardo
