How to clear a TPM2 so I can provision it again?

Hello everyone, first time posting here.

I am using the TPM 2.0 module AOM-TPM-9665 on a Supermicro X10SDV-TLN4F and I used the example AuthPolicy to provision it, through the uefi shell, and enabled TXT. I followed the instructions at [1].

I did that in order to better understand how I can provision TPM. But now I have created a new AuthPolicy with a custom pass phrase and I want to use this one. The problem is that when I try to clear the old authPolicy, when I run `ResetPlatformAuth.nsh sha256 EXAMPLE` I get the error "Did not satisfy PlatformPolicy Provisioning FAILED Setting PlatformAUth to EMPTY failed". What am I missing? Any suggestions?

I am pretty sure I haven't understood something correctly. If anyone can point me on where I can get more documentation on the correct usage of TPM, I will be grateful.

Hi. I have a server that uses 3-3 Terabyte drives to create a RAID 5 system for data. Had a crash and the Intel manager software said it fixed the problem but Windows Server 2008 R2 does not see it as a drive anymore. Just un-allocated. I need the data off the RAID! Any help please.

Hi guys. Building a server used for SOHO back office and high end test/devel

I want the board to support ESXi 6.5 fully NICS, I/O passthruough. Furthermore it should:

1) have IPMI/iKVM

2) Support at least 64 GB DDR4, preferable 128 GB

3) low power usage

Any suggestions?

Warranties (R1000SPO servers)

We have a part number :

SVCEWUPSY

What does this cover?  is it the complete server (board, CPU, case including PSU, backplanes and hard drvie carries?)  my point is, Lenovo offer warranty upgrades and it covers EVERYTHING in the server including CPU, RAM (if its Lenovo), Hard drives (also if Lenovo) and ALL hardware parts.

How do Intels work?

The above is 2 years, can we get longer?  Does it have to be ordered with the server or can it be done anytime in the first year?

Is this part number only for the R1200SPO hardware or is it on the S1200SPO generation of boards?

About Intel Black Box for common redundant power supply format question.

Hello ,

I reading the CRPS design guide about PMBus Black box Command

The meaning as below:

        Name: MFR_BLACKBOX

Format: Read Block with PEC (238 bytes)

        Code: DCh

The content have "System Tracking Data(47 bytes)" and "Power supply event data(38 byte per event)",

and the "Power supply event " can record 5 event,

so.. the total length of the command as 47 bytes + (38 bytes *5 ) = 237 bytes,

I calculated the result with the design guide length is not equal (238 byte ≠ 237bytes),

Is anyone knew the correct format about this command(DCh) , or can tell me what's detail I missed?

Hello

I have a server workstation board and I am experiencing a system freeze with a CPU_CATERR -

I am trying to understand the data in the system event log to see if it will point me in the right direction:

I tried using the document here:

RSP3TD160F compatible NVMe cables

Dear Sirs,

any idea whether there are cables available that will support the following? Have to use 3rd party Chassis.

1) RSP3TD160F to direct attach P4500 SSD series (SFF-8643 to SFF-8639 plus power). It seems that the broadly availabe cables with these specifications don't work. When using a PCIe Interface Card the SSDs are recognized, but when using Raid Card they are not. Heard about cables called "U.2 enabler cable". Anybody heard of it?

2) RSP3TD160F to a backplane using SFF-8643 for NVMe drives. Same Problem.

Hope anybody can give a hint.

Regards,

Sven

S2600CW2 board and LAN port failure

$

We have one server with S2600CW2 board and it has few issues with LAN port1:

When restarting server, BMC link fails for some period and then up again.

Using LAN port 1 not possible to do anything.

Have to use LAN2 and MGMT port to be able to do anything.

When trying to boot to PXE using LAN1 port, then it fails for many first attempts.

Can it be port 1 failure and need to change motherboard?

FW is the latest and greatest

Hope for hint and advice!

s2600cp BMC error help

$

I picked up a s2600cp that I am trying to get running. I have got the BIOS updated to the latest version (02.06.0006) after stepping through many upgrades.  I have 3 4pin fans plugged into system fan 1, 2 and 3.  I ran frusdr and configured those fans, all other fans off, and marked no for chassis intrusion.  Upon completing the config update the fans immediately spin down, but after the BMC reinitialized they ramp back up to full speed. I ran sysinfo and after digging through the log saw this:

Management Subsystem Health, BMC FW Health (#0x10) Warning event: BMC FW Health reports the sensor has failed and may not be providing a valid reading.

It I dug deeper and found that it started popping up somewhere during the bios updates(The version that I started with was so low i stepped through maybe 12 to be safe).  After seeing this I reflashed the BMC, and reflashed frusdr to no change.

I have found very little after scouring the net for this error. I have seen some people say this means the board is failing, and I have seen some people say it means its reading something wrong.  Either way both pieces seem a bit vague.

I am fairly certain this is the cause of the full speed fans as the system status LED is flashing green and I believe a fault like this will trigger fans to run at max speed.

Also the system seems to be running fine other than this. Does anyone have any information that could shed some light on this?  Thanks

drastic reduction in performance when compute node running at half load

$

We have compute nodes with 24 cores( 48 threads) and 64 GB RAM (2x32GB). When I run a sample code (matrix multiplication)in one of the compute node in one thread, it takes only 4 seconds. But when I starting more runs (copy of the same program) in the same compute node, the time taken increases drastically. When the number of programs running reaches 24 (I gave maximum 24 since physically only 24 cores are present), the time taken becomes like around 40 seconds ( 10 times less). When I checked the temperature, it is below 40 deg Celsius.

When I searched in the Internet about this issue, I found some people saying that it may be due to slowing down of transfer of data from ram to processor when we run many programs. I was not satisfied with this comment, because the compute nodes are designed to run at maximum load with out much decrease in performance. Also, we are using only 1GB of memory even with 24 programs running. Since we are getting performance reduction of about 1/10, I guess the problem is something else.

s1200sps + supermicro sc825tq-r720lpb tracking power failures

intel s1200sps mainboard has the i2c ( SSI compliant 1x5 pin connector J9F1 to provide I2C monitoring of the power supply. https://www.intel.com/content/dam/support/us/en/documents/server-products/S1200SP_TPS_R1_1_S1200SPL_S1200SPS_S1200SPO.pdf) connector to track failures from psu on intel's own supported cases.

Has anyone managed to get supermicro's PDU (for example PWS-721P-1R) information of power failures?

When I test to plug out power cable I get OK readings from intel's bmc:

Wolf Pass Server 2600WFT Enumerates X710 PCI domain 10000 - DPDK will not load

I have a Wolf Pass 2600WFT Server where I am trying to load a DPDK-assisted vSwitch as I do on the Wild Cat Pass.

But DPDK fails to load because the Ethernet port is on PCIe domain 10000, instead of the normal 0000.

Is there some BIOS setting or update to make the domain for this Fortville NIC to be enumerated in domain 0000 ?
