Intel s2250sc full speed fans

$

Hello, I got this used workstation with the s2250sc motherboard (2x 5550 Xeon) in the sc5600 chassis.

Everything works fine but the fans are always at the maximum speed.  I already did the bios + sdr update from Intel's website and during the install the fans slow down but ramp up again after a few seconds. I don't have much experience with these boards and these powerful 12v 3A fans, so I'm stuck.

I should mention that I tried both the sdr option of this chassis and the custom one but they behave the same: the rpms o down during the setup but ramp up at max soon after...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Intel Server Board S2600CW2R and SR-IOv support??

$

I'm looking to make a Virtualization Home Lab. I want to eventually run the router as a VM along with a Web- + Mailserver.

I learned I need SR-IOv functionality. Now I wonder if this mobo above has SR-IOv (Single Root IO Virtualization) support?

What other things do I have to be aware of beyond the mobo supporting SR-IOv?

Configuring an R1304SPOSHBNR

Hello,

I am configuring an R1304SPOSHBNR 1U Rackmount Server.

I would like to know if the e3-1245v6 CPU is compatible with this.

If it is not compatible I would use an e3-1240v6 but this CPU has not got integrated graphics, would I need to have a graphics card in the expansion slot to get VGA video out?

R2208GZ4GC - Motherboard supports either Xeon Phi 31S1P or Raid Controller, not both at the same time

Hi,

I have a R2208GZ4GC server, and running vmware on it. I need to activate Direct I/O on the bios to be able to have a vm access my xeon phi, but when I do that, then my Raid Controller goes unrecognized.  I wonder if anyone noticed the same issue before. Thanks.

2600CP motherboard fan issues

Hey there,

I cant quite seem to figure out why my fans seem to hate me. The PCI domain fan constantly speeds at 3,500 RPM regardless of what i change and I believe it should be spinning at around 1000-1400 compared to what other people have reported but mine refuses to go down to that level. I have quite mode enabled so the CPU domain fans are spinning very slowly which is correct.

The event log shows no obviously errors and all the sensors are green, only a few are not available. The bios, me, bmc, sdr are all updated with the latest versions as well.

Is someone elses info where it shows 1218 RPM which i would love to have.

Mine however is like this...

Intel S2600WF (Wolf Pass) can't see NVMe Drives and VROC is not detected

Hi. I have an Intel Server System configured as follows:

(1) R2208WFTZS

(2) BX806734110

(8) SSDPE2MX012T701

(1) AXX1300TCRPS

(12) CT8G4RFS4266

(1) VROCPREMMOD

(1) AXXRMM4LITE2

(1) AXXP3SWX08040

As Well as the Oculink cables from the Wolf Pass board to the backplane and Oculink cables from the AIC to the backplane.

When I attempt to configure the RAID in the BIOS there are no options to configure. Everything I have been reading says in order to enable the Raid in the CPU (VROC) I need the VROCPREMMOD which I have installed, but there seems to be no way to address the NVME u.2 drives to configure. Where am I suppose to go to configure the RAID so I can boot up on it?

Thanks,

s2600cp Corrupt Display issues at boot and unable to boot without bios reset

s2600cp, xeon e5-2620, 32gb pc1333 ecc ram, chassis P4308XXMHDN, single 460W power supply, SERVER 2012, intel raid card with 4 1tb hard drives in raid 5, and 2 raid 1 ssd for OS

My S2600cp has been experiencing odd issues that I thought at first were related to my rs2wc080 as the OS would just die without any warning and no log files being created in windows and it did this about twice a day for the past few days. The screen would simply be black with a single white cursor at the bottom left of the screen. But now I'm wondering if it's not a motherboard issue. As when testing the card out, cleaning and reapplying thermal paste to the heat sink and restarting I found I would often be presented with garbled video output at either a letter or two of the bios info would be oscillating or I would be greeted by a completely garbled blocky colour screen. The only way I can get it to fully boot is to reset the bios each time and this would clear up the video issues.

I have updated to the latest bios, reset to default values then set only what I needed for the raid card to boot and confirmed that the Bios, ME and BMC are all up to the latest versions. But each time I reboot I get this corrupted video issue and cant fully boot.

Does anyone have suggestions as to what might be the issue? I have attached the intel scan logs here as well.  Should I be looking for a new motherboard, or entire server sooner than later?

Hi,

I was wondering how much current is needed to power the Intel S2600TPR? I know that I need two Molex Minifit Jr connectors, each with 3 positive 12 volt pins and 3 ground pins.

Thanks,

Intel Chipset Update Blue Screen ThinkServer TD350 Xeon E5-2600 MB

$

I am in the process of setting up a ThinkServer TD350 with a Intel Xeon E52650V3 2.3Ghz Processor, and a TD-350/E5-2600 Motherboard, 16GB of 2R x 4 PC4 1700R RDIMM RAM.

The server is running Windows Server 2016.  BIOS and TDM (Thinkserver Deployment Manager) were both updated prior to installing the O/S and before attempting the chipset update.

From the device manager it shows "Intel(R) C610 series/X99 chipset SMBus Controller 8D22 Version 10.1.2.19  Dated 1/26/2016"

According to Lenovo's suggested downloads I am to install the Intel DD_INTEL_CHIPSET_10.1.2.77_Public_Win_x86x64.

Installing this update caused the server to go Blue Screen with the error code: WHEA UNCORRECTABLE ERROR, for which the server gathered information and rebooted.

Lenovo suggested I download and run a (Microsoft Partnered) utility named Winthrust by Avangate/Solvusoft to clean up the registry, unused dll files etc.  The program was to have 25 free uses.  When I tried to apply the removal of said problems, it popped up a message that the free trial was expired and I had to buy the product, which I did for $30.00.  I then found out from a Malwarebytes scan that this "utility" has a red flag warning that it is malware/spyware.  I promptly removed the product. In a search I found numerous mentions that the Winthrust software utility and Avangate/Solvusoft was marketing a spyware product.

I have also run the Intel driver update utility.   The Intel utility displayed that there was a suspended driver installation and that it should be removed.  I allowed the Intel driver utility to clean things up.   The Intel utility then indicated that there were NO driver updates needed.

I again tried to install the chipset update and the system went blue screen again with the same error.  After the system rebooted I again ran the Intel driver update utility in which it again indicated that there was a suspended driver installation.

I now believe that the employees at Lenovo who have answered my questions about this problem do not have the correct information.  Advising customers to download known malware/spyware for use indicates that Lenovo support may not have their customer's best interests in mind.

what does correctable ecc asserted explicily mean?

I have "correctable ecc asserted" warning in the bmc of my server. This event probably lead to the server status light turned amber and blink. I wonder is this event mean only one bit error occurred in the dimm or the number of error occurred in that dimm exceeded the threshold? If it is the first case, I think it is ok, and won't lead to any server health problem. I hope someone can help me with this!

Firmware Updates... Where to start!

I've purchased an Intel server from a authorized vendor, and want to update the mainboard firmware to the latest.

The mainboard is a S2600CW2R. According to the online analyzer, my firmware is:

MOTHERBOARD INFORMATION
Manufacturernot detected
ModelS2600CWR
AA NumberH12881-271
BIOS VendorIntel Corporation
BIOS VersionIntel Corporation SE5C610.86B.01.01.0016.033120161139
BIOS Release Date12/02/13
System Memory32 GB

I've looked at the firmware download page, and discovered that my firmware is rather old.

Two questions:

1) Can I simply install the latest firmware? Or do I have to install every revision since the one installed?

2) There is something called a "FRUFIX" (Download Intel® Server Board S2600CWR FRUFIX Utility ) - Do I need it for my mainboard?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

RAID: After that, I'm trying to install Windows 2008 R2, but the initial level is loading from the installation disk, and then drastically goes into reboot.

Good afternoon Dear experts!

I had the following problem, and I can not figure out what it is related to.

I use the S5500BC motherboard, to which the RAID controller RS2BL080 is connected in the quantity of 1 pc.

This RAID controller worked on SATA HDD in the amount of 6 pcs.

After 1200 days of HDD operation, the OS with RAID ceased to run.

I checked the SATA HDD and they are all working.

I created a new RAID configuration of 1 or 0.

After that I succeeded, where it is written that VD0 is created and online.

After that, I'm trying to install Windows 2008 R2, but the initial level is loading from the installation disk, and then drastically goes into reboot.

What is the reason for this?

The BIOS has RAID boot enabled.

Can you help with this issue?

Chassis P4304XXMUXX with S2600CW2R is suddenly shutting down

Dear Intel Support,

My system has following configuration: Mainboard S2600CW2R, Chassis P4304XXMUXX with two PSUs FXX750PCRPS, two CPUs Xeon E5-2637V4, Memory 8 modules each 16GB, one SSD DC S3520 Series 480GB, one HDD Seagate 3.5" 8TB ST8000NM0045 and Graphic Card ASUS GTX 1080 Ti.

OS: Windows 10 Pro. All firmware was initially updated to the newest version.

System works properly, passes all tests, OS boots and runs OK.

When starts 3D modelling software Bentley Context Capture and Graphic Card is in full load, system is suddenly shutting down with beep code 1-5-4-2.

PSUs are in FULLY_REDUNDANT state.

Looks like insufficient PSU resources.

"S2600CW_H56450_P4304XXMXXX_power budget_tool R1.1" tells that there is enough PSU resources: System Totals: 647W; Power Supply Limits: 750W.

Could you please advise me what the possible cause of system shut down and which actions to be taken to resolve situation?

Maybe to set PSUs in NON_REDUNDANT state to gain available power resources?

But I've found none information in a lot of manuals available how can I make it.

Thanks in advance.

Cooling issues and fans blowing hard after firmware updates on S2600CP Board

$

Hi,

I wanted to update the firmwares on a S2600CP that I've just started supporting. I previously installed Windows Server 2012 R2 on it and configured it as a Hyper-V Host and moved some VMs on to it and that was all working fine for a couple of weeks, including everything reporting as OK in the ASC.

So I tried to go to the latest firmwares (02.06.0006) via the EFI Shell and it failed the BMC update, at the end it said it could not leave Firmware Update mode and go back to Operation Mode.

I was on very old firmwares to begin with so I stepped through around 6 firmware bundles up to the very latest. When I booted into Windows I noticed the fans did not die down. I went into the ASC and could see the information attached in the images.

I tried downgrading back to the firmware before, which is what it's still currently on (02.06.0005) but this has not changed the situation.

Could anyone please help? Thanks.

Have been in a loop trying to get to some place to register Server component with an extended warranty key.  I also think that the server configuration tool gave use the wrong SKU, as it appears to be for a single processor system, and we order components to build the system since there was no integrated pedestal system..  I have all the serial number, just cannot get to the right place to try to use them.
