Xeon Phi CPUs, AVX512 and Operating Systems: is RedHat Linux the only option?

I'm interested in this line of processors and I'd like to know if I can use operating systems supporting AVX/AVX2 on this series (many cores, in particular, the 64cores versions).
Also, I should ask another question for this but, what about VTx/VTd support? Any update (beside the patch for Qemu-KVM) for other operating systems?
